  • Man can not live on bread alone, but with this machine, you may wanna try

Pros: Quiet, lots of options, 2 paddles for better mixing, and nice large rectangular loafs.
    Cons: Larger than some.

Summary: The Background   Our first bread machine was purchased used from a for-sale news group about ten years ago, long before Craig's List took off.  We drove from NH to MA to pick it up.  We didn't want to pay a lot because we ... read more

    Not yet rated.
Pros: Many features, big window, the horizontal shape make it easier to cut for sandwiches.
Cons: Recipe book should be adjusted, good only for big size of loaf

Summary: I bought Zojirushi BBCC-X20 bread machine less than one year ago after reading much about it online. I had my previous bread machine, for a couple of years. It was a different brand and I had no problem with my old bread maker. I fell absolutely in love ... read more

  • Great, tough machine

    Apr 7, 2011 by
    Not yet rated.
Pros: Strong motor, cake setting, customizable settings, doesn't blow fuses, never broke a kneading blade
Cons: Sourdough snobs wouldn't like the recipes in the manual. Customizable settings can be confusing.

Summary: I bought the Zojirushi BBCC-X20 bread machine 5 or 6 years ago. I bought it because I was experimenting with an almost-no-salt diet, along with natural-sourdough breads.I make at least one whole grain loaf per week, along with white breads and ... read more

  • Buy this one!

    Feb 26, 2010 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: heavy duty, user friendly, multi-functional, value for your dollar, makes a 2# loaf
Cons: All that wonderful bread is making my jeans too small.

Summary: Oh my gosh! This bread machine is the best!  Ok, so my first loaf came out lumpy and dense, but this was an operator error.  The subsequent loaves have been devine.  I've found the use of bread flour is important.  With that ... read more

  • The Upper-Crust Of Bread Makers

Pros: Solid, quiet and thorough. Just an excellent machine.
    Cons: No automatic ingredient feeder.

Summary: Some background...Ever since moving from New Zealand my family and I have struggled with the bread sold in supermarkets. The mass produced bread seems way to sweet for our taste, and the store baked bread is outrageously priced for what you ... read more

Pros: Produces great bread easily with simple clean up.
Cons: Timer could be better and power cord should be longer

Summary: I purchased this bread machine for my wife for Christmas two years ago and we’ve been baking bread ever since.  I balked at the price at first ($199) but after tireless online research, the Zojirushi rated tops on just about every site.  ... read more

Pros: Lasts a long time ( years for me).  Turns out great, normal looking bread.
Cons: Can't put pan in dishwasher (is that a problem?)

Summary: Update!!!:  4/16/12.   I finally have had to replace this breadmaker.  It lasted 9 years!!   The value for the money paid on this is the best I can recall ever realizing on a small appliance.  I have ordered another Zojirushi and ... read more

Pros: Preheat cycle Double Paddles Pan, more robust than previously described
Cons: Asymmetric loaves Uneven crust browning Takes up a lot of space

Summary: We've had our Zojirushi for about a month now and use it on average of once every 3 days. We bought it at a "big box" store that offered a 20% off coupon, which lowered the price by around $40. This is our second bread machine, Our first one is ... read more

  • Confused by the Negative Reviews

    Mar 27, 2008 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Taste, options and, well, just a fine product.
Cons: Price, small view window (my DAK had a full glass dome) and size.

Summary: I had a DAK bread maker for over 16 years and it finally died. To find a replacement I did a lot of reading and research and settled on the Zoji. I figure the positive reviews outweighed the negatives by 95 percent to 5 percent. Note that this was from a ... read more

  • TERRIBLE Quality Control at Zojirushi

    Jan 26, 2008 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: The ability to program in three personal cycles.
Cons: Does not brown top of loaf and bottom is HARD AS CEMENT.

Summary: The folks at Zojirushi must have the worst quality control department. Before purchasing this machine I did research for several weeks and about 75% of the reviews I read and received directly were great. The other 25% ran the gamut from "so-so" to ... read more

  • Can making bread be this easy?

    Jan 8, 2008 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Quick, easy, delicious bread
    Cons: Size, storage, price

Summary: I love homemade bread, but I hate the time that it takes to make it. With all the kneading and rising and baking, you would have to start at six to get it done to eat by supper. Not so anymore. Start to finish is three and a half hours with the ... read more

    Pros: Larger Window
Cons: Can not bake a decent loaf of bread

Summary: I had purchased the Zojirushi V20 in 2002 and loved it. Perfect bread every time. I wanted to update my machine and thought the Zo would be the only one to choose. WRONG!The crust is terrible,it is so hard you can not chew it.It does not matter what ... read more

  • Love my Zojirushi

    Mar 13, 2007 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: Easy, delicious. Minimal clean up.
Cons: Storing unit; bread dries out quickly and has a thicker crust.

Summary: This is my first experience with a bread machine. I wanted homemade bread, but didn't want to make five loaves at a time. A bread machine seemed like a good way to bake just the amount we would eat as we needed it. I did a fair amount of research before ... read more

    Feb 17, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Easy to use and makes quality larger "normal" sized loaves.
Cons: I cannot think of any!

Cons: Somewhat expensive. Limited number of recipes unless you are willing to experiment.

    Nov 28, 2006 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Well-made rectangular loaves, flexible programming options, good recipes
    Cons: Expensive

Summary: Ah, the smell of fresh-baked bread. There’s nothing quite like it, and the invention of the home bread baker has made this luxury vastly more accessible to everyone. True, anyone could, in theory, do the whole thing by hand… but kneading and ... read more

Summary: I received the BBCC-V20 as a gift (cost something like $220 at the time) ten years ago. It has had at least weekly use since then, mostly for white and wheat yeast breads. Over the years I have been able to perfect a recipe for multigrain bread that is ... read more

  • Rolls Royce of bread machines, but would like to see a REMOTE DISPLAY with it.

    May 18, 2006 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: For what I use it -see my review- it's a great machine.
Cons: Perhaps some people will think it's expensive... but in my opinion it's worth it!

Summary: This is my third bread machine after a B&D single shaft and a West Bend double shaft. I bake four or five breads a week and both my previous machines have lasted for several years. In my West Bend I replaced the pan four or five times (which was ... read more
