Pros: small, not much software overhead, huge storage, great battery life Cons: heavy, quirky, controls, lack of updates, some disk access delays
I have to admit that I'm not much of a music guru. Yeah I listened to some music in college where I built up most of my CD collection, but to be honest I've only bought one CD since I graduated and that was a present for my wife. I found myself listening ...
Pros: Great sound, multi-purpose, decent range of peripherals Cons: Terrible software, battery life
I'll give Apple huge credit for making themselves go from being in computer industry dead pools to central in today's technology market. They've done so with just one simple word: iPod. Apple's portable media player is ubiquitous, to the point that ...
Pros: Excellent hardware features in a great form factor, the best non-Apple player on the market. Cons: Software support glitches mar this otherwise fine player.
I've owned and used a series of MP3 players from various manufacturers and eventually settled on a 30Gig iPod about a year ago. The major fatcor being the sound quality of the iPod and the ease of use with Apple's iTunes music management application. ...
Pros: Does it all, audio, FM, recording, text, pics, video. Color LCD, USB 2.0 Cons: Size, case, and takes some time to master interface
This is my first mp3 player, and since I have a quite large CD collection (600+), I wanted to invest in a player that could hold it all at an acceptable quality level, with some room to grow. I did some research on the net, including here at epinions, ...
Pros: Easy to record, compatible with various file formats, sturdy, reliable, good sound. Cons: Has been discontinued; no entirely internal way to create playlists.
It is sad to realize that the iRiver H340 has been discontinued, but those who can find one on eBay or some other outlet will find it to be worth its weight in gold. When I bought my iRiver in December 2004, I had nearly 600 CDs in my collection, ...
Pros: Very good sound large disk "to-go" compatible nice bright color screen good fm tuner Cons: Large, clunky, unintuitive random battery keys too small no real software to organize music slow
I have an Ipod and love it for what it is - it is a player for music I own. The hardware and software are amazingly intuitive and easy to use, but like almost everything Apple it tends toward locking out the rest of the world (though there is rather iffy ...
Pros: Supports Vorbis encoding, records from a stereo microphone, lets you copy music back out Cons: It's just not as cool as an iPod.
I was strongly considering an iPod until I found out the Apple had left out several key features, purportedly at the behest of the music industry. The iPod restricts copying of music files to an outside source, it will not record, and it will not ...
Pros: Great sound. Drag-and-drop capability. Cons: No one-time programmability. Controls take some getting used to.
I've had my I-River H340 for a couple of months now. What I like is the drag-and-drop ability going to, or coming from, the player to the hard drive. No having to go through Windows Media Player or Musicmatch or I-Tunes. Hooray for no middleman! ...
Pros: Sound quality. FM Tuner. Voice/FM Recorder. USB hosting. Ogg Support. Fantastic Screen. Freeform directory structure. Cons: The case isn't pretty. Chunky compared to iPod's. Poor Quasi-Shuffle.
I was looking at getting a mp3 player for quite a while but never really found one that I was happy with. The short summary of this review is that the H340 was one of the few (if not only) digital audio players on the market that did everything which I ...
Pros: same size as 40GB ipod it does a whole lot more and is less money Cons: haven't found any yet. Don't think I will
I owned a zen jukebox xtra 60 gb and I did not like it.. Mostly for the reason that I wasn't able to access the mp3 player as a hard drive when I plugged it into the system. the H340 allows you to do this.. also it was a big hassel to go through my 30 ...
Pros: great sound, great colour screen, nice tidy looking unit Cons: fails to address the basic functionality required for a 40gig mp3player.
I was so excited about getting the iriver. ive had an ipod and a creative and thought this was the next best thing. the colour screen is great, the sound is the best of any mp3 player ive heard. the fact that you can view pictures is great and you only ...
I returned this one. Terrible customer service. by alincal ,Jan 15 '05
Pros: Good sound. Nice screen. Cons: Too heavy and very poor customer support.
I have an iHP-120 that I have been very happy with, but I have run out of storage space. I bought the H340 with great anticipation, since I was so happy with my old player. I found the controls to be harder to deal with than the 120. The "carrying case" in my opinion, is totally useless. It is bulky and does not allow you to get to the controls without removing it from the case. Since there is no remote (unlike the 120) you have to either not use the case or pay extra for a functional case. I thought I would like the ability to share pictures with friends on the color screen, but it is so small, you really can not see any detail. I contacted the company several times for help with some minor problems. They never did return my e-mails. I tried calling, but all I ever got was a busy signal.
Pros: Great sound, great screen and design is amazing. Everyone will love it Cons: needs a scroll wheel or bar
Once I got my iriver H340 i could never put it down. i was amazed buy all of the things it could do. video, pics, fm, voice recorder, color screen. this is the greatest mp3 player on the market!!! this is not for music fans only though if you just want music then go with an ipod or something without all these options. my only suggestion would be for them to put a scroll bar on it like and ipod or the new iriver H10.
Great Product - Great Sound - I love it by petermcgov ,Jan 02 '05
Pros: Great sound, connects as hard drive, good battery life, usable, holds a lot of music Cons: Ear buds fall out of ears, could be a little easier to navigate.
I did a lot of online research before purchasing a hard drive MP3 player. This model from Iriver got consistently high reviews.
I purchased it about four months ago and could be happier.
I had read that the earphones were OK but they would not stay in my ears! I purchased Shure E3c Ear buds which have great sound!
The Iriver connects directly to my PC as a hard disk and I can transfer songs in and out.
The remote is easy to us and has a hold feature so that my moving about doesn't change any settings.
I put most of the music I want to listen to in one folder and then I can play the songs randomly or in order. The Iriver remembers where I left off when I return from shutting it off.
The battery lasts for days and charges fast.
The lcd is easy to read.
The usability is good. Navigation could be improved a tad but overall the machine is not too hard to use.
I've dropped the unit a couple of times and (knock on wood) and it still seems to work OK.
iRiver H340 DirectSync Cable Now supports Hi-Speed USB 2.0 data transfers! Synchronizes and charges just like the cradle Compatible with Car Charger, Wall Charger, and Battery Ada...
