Happy Tunes--IRiver 390T

by happy2000usa Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jan 16 '04
Pros: Extremely well designed. Great sound quality.
Cons: No Flash Memory Card Slot. Accessories are a challenge.
My son has finally recognized he's carrying his father's genes. We both tend to be hard on electric and mechanical devices. Maybe it's our propensity to fix anything and everything with a hammer. We both ascribe to the adage "if it doesn't fit, force ...

Probably the best flash-based portable player on the market

by studentfromoz , Jul 09 '04
Pros: Sound, size, battery life, all features actually work well, headphones, accessories, OGG, SOUND QUALITY!!!
Cons: Fairly weak output power, confusing/poorly laid out menus, easily scratched/damaged, small screen, memory not upgradeable
I have had the Iriver for around 10 months. This has given me plenty of time to use it and find its strengths and weaknesses. I'm a product designer so I'm able to see things from the other side of the fence. From what I can see Iriver is doing some ...

iRiver iFP 390T from a Mountain Biking Perspective

by djsepinions , Oct 09 '03
Pros: Small, Battery Life, Line In recording
Cons: armband sucks for cycling, navigation / control needs improving
UPDATE: My unit is experiencing rust on the top two body screws, the headphone jack and the lancet connector - I think because sweat drips on it when using the lancet for bike riding - another downer on this for biking. First, you should read ...

Fun, fairly-priced, compact, intuitive

by wien976 , Feb 19 '04
Pros: user-friendly, unique (eye-catching) design, decent capacity
Cons: non-upgradable memory
I've enjoyed using this player and love the armband strap, included case, and the intuitive menus. This thing is simple to use and I've been MUCH happier with it than I was with the Samsung YP-55, which is a weird design, is heavy, and even though it's ...

Love the player but hate the weak buttons

by jthoni , Mar 25 '04
Pros: Size; radio
Cons: Weak buttons; poor navigation
I love this MP3 player. I waited years until I could find one that held a decent amount of data, and also had a radio (NPR junkie). I have one major and one minor complaint, and both have to do with the buttons. If you open the unit (gasp!) you will ...
