Pros: Incredible sound, feature-packed, large storage capacity, upgradeable firmware, small and light Cons: Moderate learning curve, limited subfolder capability, small screen hard to read for some.
Determined to join the digital music revolution, I decided to buy an mp3 player, and began my research almost two months ago. My search parameters included an instrument that could contain an appropriate amount of songs, be useful for traveling, ...
Pros: battery life, sound quality, ease of use, fm tuner Cons: small arm band.
I recently purchased the iRiver iFP-799 mp3 player after deciding that my current mp3 player was not meeting my needs. I did a lot of research online and had narrowed things down to the Creative muvo n200 or the iRiver I ended up purchasing. I ...
Pros: Sleek, durable, attractive, great sound quality, storage capacity, features, upgradable firmware, battery life, price Cons: Headphones could be better, arm band will only fit around trim girls' bicep
I purchased this little MP3 player as a gift for my girlfriend who is a musician in NYC. The idea behind the gift was that she can load several CDs onto the little MP3 player and listen to them on the subway as opposed to lugging around a Discman and a ...
Pros: Well designed software, best battery life, FM tuner, real time encoding. Cons: Not seen as a hard drive in the current software version.
I'm a big "bang for the buck" guy and let me tell you, this is THE player to have if you are looking for a small MP3 player with the largest flash memory that can handle shocks of the everyday world. I have had a hard drive MP3 player for about 2 ...
Pros: Very good sound quality, excellent recording, very good radio reception Cons: WMA format >= 192 Kbps glitch, not recognized as usb key, not tweak-able from computer
I bought the player on the 22nd of August. I bought this product because I was looking for sound quality, long battery life, FM radio support and recording capabilities. I initially didn't recommended this player because I was frustrated to ...
Pros: Brilliant sound quality, Loads of features, fully upgradable firmware. Cons: Skipping problem with WMA, defaults to USB 1.1 with UMS firmware (slow transfers), fiddly joystick
I purchased this based on user reviews which seemed to suggest this is the ultimate flash based MP3 player, the best you can buy etc. How disappointed I was to discover that it skips with WMA files, I thought I may have a faulty player but turns out that ...
I purchased my iriver 799 a month ago and there has not been a day where I have not used it. First of all the sound which for me has to be one of the most important reasons for having an mp3 is loud. It comes with some pretty good headsets but I use my ...
Pros: Nice size, looks cool, sounds great! Cons: Standard armband stinks, no pause button.
I bought this looking for a good flash memory MP3 player. I wanted a replaceable battery (not like the iFraud that you have return once the rechargeable battery goes kaput and get zapped for 100 bucks to replace it) and a lot of room to save songs. You ...
Pros: Great sound, loads of features and functions, FM radio with programmable presets, mic for recording Cons: Upgrading firmware to current version on official iriver will decrease quality of recording.
I didn't want a $300 ipod that was big (at the time) so I spent a lot of time researching mp3 players before making up my mind. No doubt, this was the mp3 that just had -- literally -- everything. I've had the iRiver iFP-799 for over a year now and I ...
Pros: see main body text....see main body text.... Cons: see main body text....see main body text....
All the Pros in the other listings I agree with. Great little player. Overpriced like all of them. For all the plastic and circuitry they should all be selling for around $19.99. So what can you expect with the 700 series? 1. Very poor firmware ...
Pros: Battery Life, removable battery, size, looks, upgradable firm ware(show as separate drive letter) Cons: Throw the stock headphones away
I agree with all the opinions of the reviewer, the player really is as good as he/she says. At the end of January 2004 Iriver.com released a firmware update that allows the player to become a fully functional USB drive detectable by windows as a separate drive...how cool is that? I now have a 1GB USB flash drive!! Way COOLio! Perfect for working out, I have about 255 songs on mine now, more than I will ever listen to in a few weeks.
Pros: Great sound, super light, durable, good on batteries Cons: Moderate learning curve, PC interface limited.
I have had this now for about 6 months. The sound is great and the controls are easy once you get the hang of it.
One incredible thing about this is that it accidentally went through the wash - and it still works perfectly! After the wash, I immediately took the battery out and then took the case apart (a few screws) and let it sit for 2 days. Once I put the battery back in it worked perfectly. All my music was still there, and several months later it still works perfectly!
So, I am sold that iRiver makes a good product that can withstand some abuse and still work well.
The software that comes with it is functional but very basic. It seems to work very slowly if you are working with networked folders. I usually just end up using Windows Media Player to transfer files...
Pros: Quality & dependable, great sound. Cons: I do not like the in-box armband.
Great portable MP3. Great display. The buttons are large enough. Quality ear buds out of the box. I will probably purchase the other armband, the one in the box is to small for me. The file manager is easy to use. I had the Sandisk 1gb & hated it.
Pros: small, memory size, accessories, easy to transfer songs Cons: price over 200
this is my first portable mp3 player. i have to say it is awesome. size was the first thing i was looking at when choosing my player. it is the perfect size and shape and also has the right amount of memory. i don't know everything yet like the bass controls but it sounds really good. i have gotten alot of compliments on it so far only having it a week. i would reccomend this player to anyone who is looking for a small compact player that has everything. the fm radio is not that nice but i didn't buy it for that feature.
