I'd never heard of The Elephant and Castle until one recently opened near us--of course our curiosity got the best of us and we had to try it out.

Overall the restaurant was very good. The pub pretzels were inexpensive and I belive you received three. They came with a tasty mustard sauce for dipping. Instead of a philly pretzel, which was expected, they came as a fried treat. They were loved at...

Cons: Waitstaff almost too "nice" pushing expensive drinks

We stopped at the E&C for lunch while visiting Qunicy Market in Boston.
They were conveniently located and a nice stop during walk of the Freedom Trail.
The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing mid afternoon. The waitstaff was very nice and knowledgeable.


We ordered the Steak Salad and Beef Dip Sandwich and found both to be excellent!

I would defiantly recommend everyone visit this restaurant at least once.

I did find the "cheerful" suggestions of VERY high priced drinks annoying after the 3rd time. This could have been our particular waitress.

They do have a HUGE beer selection for anyone looking for something a little different.
