Pros: Breakfast is served all day, reasonable price Cons: Bad atmosphere, cold room, small booths
IHOP or "International House of Pancakes," was started in July of 1958 in California. Since then it has grown to more than 1,150 locations in the United States. The only state that does not have an IHOP is Vermont. You can go to ...

Pros: None Cons: Everything
Stopped in on 11/15/06 around 9:30PM, the place was almost empty. I followed two ladies in and saw one man seated in a booth. Since I was kindly in a hurry(I was on a trip delivering expedited freight). I order a Southwestern Chicken Salad, which ...

Pros: The staff and managers realize that their bosses are insane. Cons: Regional headquarters has ordered that the floors be scrubbed while customers are restaurant eating.
IHOPs are franchised, which means that individual restaurants are owned by whoever has the cash to buy one. Beyond setting the menu items and doing national marketing, it is hard to see how the franchisor has any input into or control over the daily ...

Pros: Great pancakes, reasonable prices, kid-friendly, fast service Cons: Impersonal, lacking in atmosphere, rushed feeling
I’m on a diet that excludes fruit, veggies, and meat for some upcoming medical tests so my mom took me to IHOP last Friday where carbohydrates abound. I had been to an IHOP once before on a vacation in Florida, but the branch in our area (South Bend, ...

Would it be too much of a stretch, too much of an exaggeration to call the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) an American Institution? Growing up in the city by the sea, Newport, RI, one of my fondest memories of the place is visiting the one ...

Pros: The Harvest Grain ‘N Nut Pancakes are good. Cons: The food, service and ambiance is bad at the locations in which I have been.
The last time we went to the IHOP (International House of Pancakes) in Hyannis, MA we reminded ourselves not to go again. However finding ourselves close to my mom’s condo in Florida late at night and hungry we ate here again. About IHOP ...

Pros: They serve breakfast at any time. Cons: More expensive than the Mom and Pop places.
I am not really a breakfast person. I think the years of owning a breakfast and lunch restaurant tamed my desire for this meal. I normally eat a little oatmeal or bran flakes with raisins. However, at lunchtime I often crave a good breakfast. The ...

Pros: The food, whether "breakfast" or entrees like steak and salad, was delicious. Cons: Decor was more drab than I remember from childhood.
When I was a boy, one of my favorite occasions was when Mom would say, out of the blue, that she didn't feel like cooking and that we were going to the International House of Pancakes. In those days my older sister was either going out on dates or with ...

Pros: Consistently the same in good breakfasts and service. Cons: Small booths.
The International House of cakes had its name one it was a one restaurant facility in Toluca Lake, California. I believe the name was a terrific marketing strategy and the IHOP is catchy and easy for the kids to remember and say. IHOP is a place where ...

Pros: Coupons are welcome, great service, friendly management Cons: Inconsistent policies between stores. Theft is allowed.
We used to live in Buffalo Grove, Il and now live in Vernon Hills, Il. We have gone to both IHOPS many times. The point of this review is to show that each store is going to be a different experience from another. Here is what we experienced. The ...

Pros: New building, two sizable seating areas, kitchen effectively ventilated away from eating area. Cons: Indifferent service, indifferent food. Bad example of an IHOP.
I'm a fan of my local IHOP, even tho' it's a decades-old building that has undergone several interior remodelings with varying results, and love to order the country griddle pancakes with strawberries. It's like having dessert for breakfast (or lunch, ...

Pros: Breakfast all day long. Cons: No interesting dinner choices.
Until very recently, there was no IHOP in New York City except for one way up in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, convenient for this reviewer but way out of the way for most other New Yorkers. This summer, IHOP decided to test the waters in ...

Pros: chocolate milk is on the menu Cons: have to ask for water, pancakes were overdone
The nearest IHOP to me has a small parking lot and is located around the corner from where I once worked. I have not been there in years and kept planning on visiting, but never got around to it. During the summer my kids attend an autism day ...

Pros: Service with a smile, prices, portions, variety. Cons: Not the best place to stay on a diet.
I LOVE breakfast foods at any time of the day and have for years. I have eaten at IHOPs in many locations and was thrilled when one opened in my town (Bellevue, NE) about two years ago. Since it opened I have eaten there many times, usually on my ...
