Pros: Quality, Quantity, Service Cons: A bit tacky, Chicken with Sour Enchilada
I have always had a passion for Tex-Mex food, due to the diversity of meals, and because I just love hot spices and Guacamole. Its almost a match made in Heaven, if that is possible with cuisine, and I've been to a lot of restaurants that offer this ...

Pros: our first visit Cons: our second visit
Although the Mexican chain restaurant On the Border has locations in more than thirty states, I had never heard of it until a few months ago when I received a gift certificate to the chain. As a fan of Mexican food (but not too spicy, thank you), I was...

Pros: Good food, reasonable prices and good frozen margaritas too! Cons: Crowded, expect to wait for a table from Thursday through the weekend.
On the Border used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Baton Rouge. I will tell you what changed my mind a bit farther into my review. On the Border has a pretty casual atmosphere at our location in Baton Rouge, LA. It ...

Pros: Decent food and great decor. Cons: Loud music and poor service make for an upsetting dining experience.
Never review in anger
I try not to discipline my children when I am angry and perhaps the same rule should apply to writing reviews. My wife and I visited On the Border today for a Mexican lunch and I must admit I left the...

Pros: We can both eat there and be happy Cons: Sometimes it gets very noisy when its crowded
All I can say is, "thank heaven for On the Border!" Growing up in Southern California, I LOVE Mexican food. Now granted, I know On the Border isn't really all that authentic, but it's GOOD, and will quickly appease me when I need a Mexican food fix. My...

Pros: The Big Borderito. Guacamole. Lively Atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Cons: The queso sauce. Did I mention the queso sauce? Not that great.
Let's not kid ourselves. We all know this is not "authentic" Mexican food. If it was, it would probably be named "Across the Border" or something hinting that it is Mexican food prepared by honest-to-goodness Mexicans. But it's not. It's an American ...

Pros: Good Salsa and chips
Good chicken Quesidillas Cons: Food quality is different everytime
Food portions different everytime
Service is slow
I have been going to on the border in Hicksville, NY on and off for a year now.
I have to say the salsa is great, however the food lately has been alternating between good and bad. One week the chips were over cooked and soggy or too crunchy and...

Pros: Excellent alternative to the other "chain" restaurants. Cons: Loud
Our family of four recently "discovered" On The Border. It is now or favorite "family" place to eat.
Immediately upon being seated, we were given a bowl full of freshly made tortilla chips and salsa (excellent). We were treated to a fresh...

Pros: None Cons: Long wait times for food. Undercooked food. Incompetent service.
I have previously dined at the restaurant once before about 5 years ago. Ended up getting sick after I ate there so I didn't return. My co-workers decided we would go there for lunch. We dined at the Northridge,CA On The Border on 09.29.2008.We were ...

Pros: Food is very very good, appeals to my husband who said NEVER to Mexican food Cons: None that I can think of
then believe me you should be very impressed. And want to try this restaurant. Once upon a time my hubby said he would Never eat Mexican food because he didn't like it. But when I finally convinced him (after watching The Phantom Gourmet) to just give it...

Great Ribs!!!
by aztrc ,Mar 22 '04
Pros: Good experience, food is good. Cons: Not traditional Mexican food.
My husband and I really like this restaurant. They do not have "traditional" Mexican food, though. If you are looking for traditional, this is not what you are looking for. It is more of a Tex Mex type restaurant. My husband loves the chimichangas. The ribs are outstanding!!! We both also love the chips and salsa. The chips are large, warm, and crispy. The salsa is very good. The service has always been great as well.

All In All - I Enjoy It Every Time...

Pros: Lots of food and great Salsa! Cons: At times the wait for a table can be brutal!
Let's be realistic - when you visit ANY restaurant it's the food that really matters. The food here (Cary, NC) is excellent! my favorite thing there is the SALSA! They will sell you some - bought it many times! the food is plentiful with excellent flavor! This is my favorite Mexican restaurant!

On the border: Exton, PA Depression hits hard
by citalee ,Oct 14 '09
Pros: One of the only mexican places around... Cons: portions small.quality poor. dont seem to care..
This place has really gone down hill. Huge. They used to have great guacamole... In the past, the salsa with chips was the best. It was better than salsa in the Southwest. got a soupy mess of salsa. It was watery and bland.
The guacamole was awful and tasteless..my black beans were cold. chile releno was a fried pepper with a gob of cheese semi melted in the center. It in no way tasted like the real thing. The portions are smallish. They try and make the guacamole look bigger by filling the serving bowl with lettuce under it. This place has cheaped out. It was so disappointing we asked for the manager .We hoped there was a reason the salsa was different The manager failed to appear. The server said the manager said salsa recipe was the same. No way. This place has gone down hill. It isnt worth the money.
