Pros: The best tennis stadium in the world. Cons: Not quite enough seats.
Background
The Wimbledon tennis tournament is what I believe to be the oldest, and most famous professional tennis championship in the world. The championship was first formed in the year 1877, as an all-male amateur championship. A mere 22...
Pros: Great Tennis, Intimate Stadiums, Good Food Reasonably Priced and Great Tradition Cons: Very Expensive - more so than the other Grand Slams, super tight seating Center Court
Wimbledon is the grandest of the Grand Slam events. It is the oldest and the most entrenched in tradition and pageantry. It has recently made concessions and changes to its physical facilities and format for modern times. None of these seem to have...
The sleepy London suburb of Wimbledon hosts one of the world's biggest tennis events each year around late June/early July..... and it's well worth going to.
One of the weird things about Wimbledon is it's relatively small capacity. Football...
Pros: History, Grounds, Feeling of being there Cons: Price
There's nothing like visiting The Championships, Wimbledon. Wimbledon is the most refined Grand Slam today. Players must bow and curtsy before the royal box where usually the Duchess sits. The last time the queen made an appearance at Wimbledon was...
Pros: Everything. Simply amazing. Cons: The rain, obviously. Nobody wants to sit and *not* see tennis!
But I'll try. For any tennis fan, The Championships Wimbledon is the culmination of the entire tennis season. Even though it is only one of four grand slams, it is easily the grandest of them all. I first went to Wimbledon in 2003 during a ...
Pros: Aesthetics, Food, Atmosphere Cons: Parking, Price of Tickets
Wimbeldon is simply a classic event. There might be some disadvantages, but ultimately you get to see some of the top tennis players in the world at the world's biggest tournament. The place, built in 1868, might be old but it is beautiful. Even with all...

undoubtedly the greatest tennis venue by irmy ,Feb 09 '05
Pros: world reknowned and the home of English tennis
Cons: you'l never see an English winner
One can not overstate the importance of the all England club not only to tennis but also England itself. Tennis characterises England itself, the delicousy of the sport. Wimbledon's association with the royal family is possibly one of the vital ingredients of it's charismatic charm. It would be the perfect venue for a successful English Grand Slam Player, which is possibly why it's such a shame that us Brits only have Tim Henman. Obviously an English winner at Wimbledon is only the stuff of fairytale, possibly why Hollywood have created a film about this very subject. Could an English performer ever produce heroics that will do this famous venue justice
