Pros: Right-near-the-action seating, good food, clean place Cons: Limited parking availability
I've grown up basking in the country club glow of Camden Yards, reliving the good ol' days at Memorial Stadium, and drowning in the glory of Penn State's Beaver Stadium. I've even had the chance to play in Madison Square Gardens, Heinz Center in...
Pros: cleaner, roomier, comfortable seats Cons: less spirited than the Spectrum
I've been a hockey fan since before I was out of diapers. I was lucky enough to have a much older brother who toted me around to all the games. I can remember the old Spectrum like it was yesterday. Yes it was dirty, crowded, and in need of some help,...
Pros: Apparently no bad seats, extra ladies' rooms, hand rails on all stairways Cons: Unpaved parking, expensive food, not particularly fresh
*NOTE This review relates my experience at the newly opened First Union Center at Casey Plaza, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, not the one in Philadelphia. Sorry if I placed it in an inconvenient spot. Considering the size of this place, the arena will...
Pros: Good view, beautiful construction Cons: Expensive, some lack of old hockey spirit, cramped seating
NHL hockey is rapidly becoming a sport only the financial elite can afford to see in person. I am the biggest Flyers fan I know, and yet the only time I can make it to the Center is twice a year when I get Club Box seats -- free -- from my company....
Pros: Beautiful, clean, areas well marked Cons: very close seating arrangements.
The First Union Center is the newer home to the Philadelphia Flyers. Opening in 1996, it is a bigger arena than the former Home of the Flyers, the Spectrum.
I so badly wanted to go to the First Union center during the first season it was...
Pros: Food, cleanliness, expert staff Cons: the Sixers
Yes the NBA playoffs are upon us, as a matter of fact at this time only four teams remain in those same playoffs. One of them being the fabled Philadelphia 76ers who make their home in the famed Spectrum 2 Arena, no sorry, the CoreStates Center, no wait,...
Pros: Great view, very clean, nothing beats the excitement of Philadelphia sports fans Cons: food is pricey
I am a huge Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Flyers. I try to get to as many games as a can a year. For me, part of enjoying the game comes with the atmosphere of my surroundings. If I'm at a trashy stadium, like the Continental Airline Arena...
Pros: It's new, so it's very clean, comfortable seats Cons: $5 a beer, $8 parking
Last night I had the incredible opportunity to attend the AC/DC concert at the First Union Center (or F.U. Center as it is affectionately called). See my review of the concert if you want to know how it was – hint, hint FABULOUS.
Pros: Fairly new arena, club boxes galore, roast beef sandwiches & cheese steaks Cons: Not even allowed on the club box level if you don't have club box seats
I'm an avid hockey fan in the tri-state area and often go to Madison Square Garden, Continental Arena & the First Union Center. Once you've been to the garden and continental you will really appreciate the First Union Center. I agree with some of the...
Pros: "Good seats", fairly professional crowd (for Philly), exciting game, good beer Cons: PRICE, Knick's are terrible! and the sixers can't shoot
The first union center, ahh it's so much nicer than the Spectrum. I'll start off by saying that my seats were the last row in section 209 (row 15 seat #12). So you guys know I'm not making this review up.
Pros: Bigger Cons: Bigger..missing the home feeling
I am a die-hard Philadelphia 76ers fan. Ever since Larry Brown came to town, Sixers' fan have been given hope that the Sixers will be successful. Since his arrival, the Sixers'have made the play-offs two seasons in a row, a great improvement from below...
Pros: Luxurious, Many Extra Features Cons: Priced Out True Fans
The First Union Center is an extremely luxurious facility. I have been going there to see both Flyers and Sixers games since it opened in 1996. After coming from the old Spectrum across the street in Philadelphia, the "big house" as it is...
Pros: spacious, beautiful inside and out, fun. Cons: not loud.
In the First Union Center, I have seen several Philadelphia Flyer's hockey games. Located by the other sports facilities of the city, with plenty of room around for parking, it was convenient. It was also easy to find. The parking situation was...
Pros: Great Seating and food. FANTASTIC FANS! Cons: (none)
I've only been to the First Union Center four times, then I moved to Alabama. And I'll tell you what I think of the First Union Center. I loved it so much, I was thinking about buying a plane ticket back to Philly just to go and see those Sixers play...
Pros: Beautiful concourse, good food in restaurant, nice seats Cons: getting out of parking lot
I was so excited when I got tickets off of EBay.com to go see the Flyers take on the Mighty Ducks at the First Union Center on February 3rd. We got here an hour early and parked four rows deep. The walk to the Center was about the same as a walk from...
Pros: large stadium..well kept(clean) Cons: seats way too close!
I attended a concert(AEROSMITH) at First Union Center. The place is tremendously huge!! I especially liked the information board, announcing upcoming events. I also enjoy the fact that there is VIP seating. I never saw another building like...
The First Union Center in Philadelphia is one of the premiere facilities in the United States and Canada. There is not a bad seat in the house and none are obstructed. I have seen many Sixers and Flyers games in the First Union Center and I am impressed...
Pros: Beautiful new arena Cons: Price of tickets ($75.00)
Philadelphia sports fans finally have a state of the art arena to see their home teams (Flyers, Sixers)play in. The new First Union center has everything a sports fan could ask for. Plenty of concession stands, close parking, and finally enough rest...
I don't think the F.U. Center is a bad arena by any means, but I think that for a modern arena it could be better. Most of my trips there were for Philadelphia Flyers games.
There are only two main entrances into the building and 2 escalators...
The First Union Center is a beautiful center, but the food leaves something to be desired. First of all, where are the Philadelphia soft pretzels? Philadelphia is famous for its soft pretzels. The pretzels at the center taste like they were made in the...
Pros: good views, lots of food, teams are good now Cons: not as loud as before
I was a little skeptical when they chose to build the wachovia center (known before as the First Union, or FU Center - as everyone in philly knows). The old place was soooo loud, and so fun that I wasn't sure it would be the same. well, the only bad ...
Pros: A modern arena with better lighting and crowd control entering and exiting Cons: Same cramped seating spacing.
My first trip to the First Union Center was in early April for the Houston Rockets NBA game with the hometown Sixers, showcasing Yao Ming's visit. I must admit, I had a bit of an inside advantage. I had a four ticket package that included VIP parking,...
Pros: good beer, good food, Iverson Cons: none to speak of
I have been to two events in the last year at the FU center. The first event was the 76ers knocking the Magic out of last years playoffs. The arena was awesome that day. The building was rocking and the Magic were absolutely playing scared and...
Pros: Better view than in the old Spectrum Cons: Terrible ambiance when compared to the Spectrum
The FU Center is a gorgeous building. The concourse is much wider than the Spectrum was. There is more than one bathroom. There are many places to buy souvenirs and food. There are ATM machines, air hockey tables, bubble hockey tables and basketball...
Pros: Food, accessibility, sound system, comfort, facilities Cons: atmosphere too white collar, dull
The First Union Center is a beautiful building. Walking through the corridors, you would think that it is a hotel or you are at an airport. It is very nice, feeling almost a bit luxurious. The food is very good, with selections of chicken, pizza,...
I went to a Flyers game at the First Union Center last year and was impressed with the newer facility. It is heads above the old home of the Flyers and Sixers, the Spectrum, which was falling down and cramped.
The parking and access to the venue is...
Pros: Decent views, modern, good variety of food and drink Cons: Area is a warzone, parking is not the best
The First Union Center is a nice building for a basketball game, but man you better hope you do not break down getting to the stadium. The center is in the same complex as the Vet and neither is in an area where you want to be stranded. The...
Pros: Good food, Excellent seats, Great view, and decent price. Cons: Limited Parking, Food price, and Long wait to get out of stadium.
Now I am a die hard Hockey fan and I go see atleast 15 to 20 games a year and the First union center in Philadelphia is by far one of the best. Not only is their Hockey team up and rising but the First Union Center is one of the cleanest, well built...
Pros: great atmosphere, seating, high-tech Cons: parking, expensive
I recently saw my first sporting event at the first union center. I have been there before for concerts and other events, and open house when it first opened but this is the first actual game I have ever been to. It was a great night and I loved the...
The First Union Center should be nice. Its the finest arena that the taxpayers could finance. Don't get me wrong I am a big hockey fan and a sports fan in general. I was a season ticket holder in the late 60s and early 70s when a ticket cost $4.50,...
Pros: Atmosphere, food, service, the team Cons: after game traffic
I attended a Philadelphia Flyers game at the First Union Center against the Detriot Red Wings. For a die hard hockey fan the First Union Center is heaven. You can feel the adrenaline flowing through the entire arena. The people, the displays, the rink,...
I must say how impressed I am with the somewhat-still-new First Union center. It's an interesting set-up, with the old Spectrum and the Vet right there as well.
For starters, it is easy to get to. I-95 and 76 are right there, with easy access...
Pros: Classic Feel, Great Luxery Boxes Cons: Nothing Different about classicson the regular interion, not on the luxery boxes.
I've been to a couple of 76ers games in my life and they have been at the now four year old first union center, which, in fact, started out as the Corestates Center, before First Union bought Corestates out. I was there when it was the Corestates Center....
Pros: Short walk from the car to the arena. Cons: Seats are slightly uncomfortable.
I've attended two Flyers games in 2007. Both times, I showed up approximately 40 minutes before the game, paid $11 to park, and was able to park almost a rock's throw away from the stadium. It was very convenient. Once inside, I was greeted with ...
Pros: Good view of the action on the ice
Cons: Pricing - through the roof
Parking lot - hard to exit
I recently attended a Flyers game. I won the seats in a radio contest, and that's the only way I'll ever be able to afford to sit in Club Section 3. They retail for a whopping $170.00 each. I doubt that my consience would let me pay that amount on a...
Pros: good conversation Cons: out of touch with the game
The First Union Center is unlike it's sister next door The Spectrum. The only purpose for the First Union Center is so that out of touch, deal making businesses can send their clients to a sporting event. The true fans can not get seats because all of the...
Pros: Outside center city, easy commuting, Excellent condition, great seating, Flyers and Sixers action Cons: Food is just ok
The First Union Center also known as the FU Center is already a hometown favorite for Philadelphia citizens. And why not? The huge building seats 20,000 people for hockey games and even more for basketball games. Not only do the always good Flyers...
I have been to the First Union Center for a Flyers game, I am a diehard Flyers fan! In two weeks, my sister, mother and me are taking my 3 year old daughter to see Sesame Street live there. I know she will like it. The seating is great at the First Union...
Pros: Clean facility, good parking, fairly easy access from highway Cons: Hockey crowds seem drowsy
I have been to the First Union Center for several Flyers games and the 2001 X Games. I have yet to attend a 76ers game there. All in all, I would say the arena is all too similar to many of the next generation facilities I have either visited or seen on...
Pros: Good seats, clean, lots of extras, and good teams Cons: Expensive, parking is tough
I have attended the First Union Center multiple times to see 76ers games, and I can say that it is a a great arena. There are lots of displays about Philadelphia basketball, from the high school level all the way up to the pro players, and there are fan...
Pros: Home of Allen Iverson. Good food, high quality staff and friendly atmosphere. Cons: Limited parking
My first experience at the First Union Arena was amazing. I wanted to see Allen Iverson play since he was drafted into the NBA. The only problem with the arena is the limited parking but we managed to get a space. Once inside I was amazed by...
Pros: -No bad seats Cons: - Im only rating for hockey games in Philly
I purchased the LOWEST price seats I could find. I LOVE the FLyers but have NO money. EVERY SECOND of the action was easily visable from where I sat. Between periods, I wandered around to other parts of the arena and I absolutely could NOT find a bad spot for the action. Every angle I viewed from was clear. Please note, that during my intermission view-finding mission, I was basing my opinion on a "mites-on-ice" game. Those kids are MUCH smaller than the NHLers. If I could clearly see them, then I doubt the NHL players would be hard to see.
There were no beams from any angle I sat at and there were snack vendors close-by at all times without getting in the way. This arena is SO much fun to see a game from. I can't offer you any advice about parking because I took a limo to the game. I can tell you that parking is about $15 regularly.
Pros: Flyers! View. Cons: Food & drink prices. Sometimes you have to park far.
Just bought my first set of season ticket to the Flyers this past year. And had great seats. The whole arena has a good view, no seat is bad. The only thing is that if your going to want food and drink it'll probalbly cost you more than the ticket.

Pros: great seats. nice bars. decent drink selections. ok team apparel section. Cons: narrow and crowded hallways. dirty bathrooms, traffic nightmare.
Went to game 5, 2004-Flyers vs Devils. Nothing beats nhl playoff hockey between 2 rivals in a great hockey city! Nice new arena, though its much like other buildings in that it doesn't have the old time charm. With the NFL and MLB stadiums nearby, parking is a disaster. Be careful about cheering for the opposing team if you team wins.
