The only place to watch the Buffalo Sabres play

by tdanza , Jun 06 '06
Pros: Location, Every seat is a good seat, awesome experience.
Cons: Location, Food's a bit pricy, using the escalator from the 300 level (take the stairs).
I've been to a few sport arenas and stadiums, but none of them can live up to the greatness of HSBC Arena. Built in the late 90's, HSBC Arena (once called Marine Midland Arena) is a brand new, state of the art facility, featuring great architectural ...

The "Marina" is the Place to Be in Buffalo

by a_beg , Jan 14 '00
Pros: very fan friendly, plenty of good vantage points, service is top-notch
Cons: bring a wallet book if you're going with the family for a hockey game--tickets may be among lowest in NHL, but are still pretty high
The Marine Midland Arena (note: recently renamed the HSBC Arena) is certainly one of the crown jewels of Buffalo and the Niagara region. It holds numerous venues for sports of all kinds, such as arena football, lacrosse, indoor soccer, hockey, college...

A great place to see hockey games.

by deschmann , Jan 29 '01
Pros: Good views, New Arena, seats are pretty comfortable.
Cons: Ticket prices are expensive (but cheaper than other cities).
I have really enjoyed all the hockey games that I have seen at the HSBC or Marine Midland Arena. I am not a die-hard sabres fan, but I do go to several (3 or 4) games a year and watch many of them on TV. The thing that is great about this arena is the...

MMA - More than Just an Arena!

by abbynormal10 , Jan 15 '00
Pros: Well-maintained, good seating
Cons: Food & drink is expensive
The Marine Midland Arena is one of the few facilities in downtown Buffalo that makes the city come alive at night! MMA opened in 1996 and holds around 18,600 people. It's home to the Buffalo Sabres (NHL), Buffalo Bandits (lacrosse), Buffalo Blizzard...

The MMA-Greatest Ice Palace of All

by foodoo , Jan 25 '00
Pros: great views, fair price on seats, great entertainment for your buck
Cons: Traffic after events can get a bit touchy, but not bad at all. Very close to the thurway.
I have been to many events at the Marine Midland Arena since it opened. Everything happens at the MMA! Hockey games, great concerts, and all sorts of other wonderful sporting events. Compared to the old Auditorium, the MMA is paradise. From the...

Marine Midland Needs Sound Adjustment

by swb Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jan 14 '00
Pros: nice facility, clean, good visual view
Cons: sound system is poor for concerts
The Marine Midland Marina in Buffalo, NY is a great place to watch a Sabres game, but beware of concerts. I attended concerts at the Marina performed by Fleetwood Mac and Billy Joel, and the sound system was just horrendous. Granted, I wasn't on the...

Mondo fun at the MMA!!!

by Giggles14227 , Jan 13 '00
Pros: Beautiful arena, great events, great fans!
Cons: Refreshment prices ridiculous!
Buffalo, New York's Marine Midland Arena is definitely worth a visit if you are in and around the Buffalo-Niagara region and have interest in seeing a sporting event or concert!
Opened in 1996, the arena seats 18595 people and even if you're in...

Not a bad seat in the house

by jerslaw , May 18 '01
Pros: Easy to find seats, parking is close, no bad seats
Cons: Bathrooms are crowded
Every single time I go to a Sabres game, I am amazed at how well you can see all of the action. I have had seats as close as row 5 and as far back as the very last row in the very top section. Each has it's advantages. In the very top of the stadium,...

I was impressed!

by mgc , Oct 30 '00
Pros: Location
Cons: Getting out of the place!
I went to this arena on Friday October 27, 2000 to see an NHL Hockey game between The Buffalo Sabres and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Being a Canadian, it was possibly the only chance I have to see the Leafs play. Ticket prices and the...

brings life to buffalo

by robberbaron , Feb 28 '00
Pros: brightens the water front
Cons: the sabres are not winning
This stadium is host to the sabres and the bandits our hometown lacrosse team. But most importantly it is host to concerts, and conventions which bring life to a very dismal buffalo city. Garth Brooks played 4 shows in buffalo last year, and would...

Nice Place!

by TheBabyOxFan , Dec 28 '00
Pros: Great sight lines, comfortable seating, easy to get around
Cons: Some concessions are a little expensive, Metro Rail extremely busy after the end of games
I went to see a Buffalo Sabres game, and the arena is excellent. There are many concession areas, restrooms, a big team store, and lots of good signage to help you get around. The aesthetics are beautiful and it is fairly easy to get to by either...

Sweetest hockey arena!!

by pominville29 , Mar 06 '08
Pros: Good food, Friendly fan base, Great team.
Cons: Expensive food, loud rivals.
I am a die hard Sabres fan, but even with that, I think that any hockey fan or even away fan would love HSBC Arena (formerly Marine Midland Arena). It has a great, friendly, and team-loving fan base. I usually go to around 4-10 games a year, and every ...

Marine Midland Arena: What a place!

by madhatter11 , Jun 27 '00
Pros: Large, many seats
Cons: none
When I went to Marine Midland Arena for a Buffalo Sabres game, it was like architectural paradise. The thing was designed perfectly for hockey. The way the seats were set up were amazing. It was huge, it could easily fit 200,000 people in the three...

The Arena

by misterkobay , May 10 '01
Pros: Comfortable seats (Lower Levels), good sight lines
Cons: Too far away from the action, expensive concessions
I have been to the MMA many times, and I have to say that I have always had a good experience there. Growing up, I saw many, many events at the Memorial Auditorium, and there are many improvements in the new arena, but there is one change that I would...

Old but nice
by shama5777 ,Aug 10 '07
Pros: good views, great beer, intimate.
Cons: not very pretty but serves well as an old time hockey stadium
This stadium is old, the parking is not great but the overall vibe of the stadium is very good. It reminds me of the old Boston garden and maple leaf garden. One of the oldest hockey stadiums but they don't build them like they used to.
