Cal Memorial is simply the best stadium in North America, bar none. The setting, grace, form, scale, proportions, understated and elegant classicism, and views are unmatched and absolutely magnificent. I was stunned the first time I attended a Cal football game there. The spirit inside the stadium is everything one expects in a college football game, and for which college football is noted: Tough football, banners, a wonderful band, great card section, sprightly and enthusiastic cheerleaders, nostalgic alumni and partisan but friendly fans. It's just a great experience. Oh, and did I mention the weather? It's perfect. Can't ask for more---except maybe more winning teams.
