Pros: Great kids programming, entertaining for adults. Cons: Young kids and commercials are not a good mix.
As my four year old daughter grows, she wants to expand her taste in television shows. Hey, I am not complaining, since that means she has outgrown Barney and Teletubbies. The first channel she has moved to watch is Nickelodeon.
Nickelodeon...

Pros: Was great when I was a kid. Cons: I haven't watched it recently.
When I was in elementary school, we got our first cable box. Nickelodeon was really the only network geared specifically towards kids, so I naturally gravitated toward that as my favorite programming. There were a lot of great programs.

Pros: It was cool back in the 1980's and the early 90's..... Cons: .....But after the early 90's and now, it is HORRIBLE!
Yes people, Nickelodeon was cool a long time ago and let me tell you why here pretty soon!
Old Nick:
Back in 1977, Nickelodeon was once called Nick Flicks and aired in (I think) the mid-west and was a type of early "Premium...

Pros: preschool educational Cons: not enough time to absorb it all!
Not only does my 4 year old son think that the TV channel should be permanently stuck on the Nickelodeon channel, but so do I. What a relief to be able to let my son sit in front of the programs on this network and not have to worry about what type of...

Pros: enough for the whole family Cons: none
We are looking for "Blue's Clues"...lalala Oh sorry! I can't believe how that song just sticks in your head all day...but it does! My son started watching Nickelodeon (and I say watching...I mean actually paying attention) when he was about...

Pros: A really great TV channel with every aspect television has to offer except the bad or inappropriate stuff. Cons: none

Pros: Fun, educational TV for small kids Cons: Commercials (unlike PBS)
First thing in the morning, I hear: "Mom, what time is Little Bear?" and not just one day of the week, but EVERY day. I can literally see the disappointment in my kids' faces when I tell them it is Saturday and Little Bear will not be on...

Pros: Great shows, funny, marathons, all your favorites Cons: Only on at night!
I have to admit, I love watching Nick At Nite. Its what I watch every evening without fail, for the past 6 or 7 years. Being only 18 right now must say a lot about the appeal of this network.
What I love about it is all the shows featured on...

Pros: Reruns of old comedies that are not anti-family Cons: Anti Adult , Anti Parenting cartoons, and skits.
As many parents I welcomed the Nickelodeon channel when it came out, and I thought that MOST of the programming was appropriate for kids. It gave children the feeling that they had their own channel that addressed their own needs. Adults were not even...

Pros: A good variety of television shows for all ages. Cons: They seem to take off shows frequently. Like where is Thomas the Train on Nick Jr. My children loved that one and now I can't find it.
Nickelodeon offers shows for a variety of ages and the best part of it is that they divide the shows up into time sections. Early in the morning to about 2:00 PM (central time) Nickelodeon offers Nick Jr. Nick Jr. is targeted toward the younger crowd...

Pros: Very entertaining and can really hold a child's attention. Cons: Don't care for the new Bill Cosby program.
I mainly base my opinion of Nickelodeon on what I see for my two preschool aged children. What I like best is that I feel I can, if I have to, leave my children in front of the television with Nick Jr. on. Some of these shows have been my children's...

Pros: Nick Jr, classics re-runs Cons: Bad new shows, "90's" shows
Nickelodeon was once a very good network. The programming was good, educational, and fun to watch. The cartoons were great too. Now, every new show that comes out seems to be absolutely horrid. Sponge Bob Square Pants for instance. What are they...

Pros: Not only is it for children 5 and up but it also includes Nick Jr . for preschoolers and Nick at Nite for the adults ! Cons: Occasionally it says c.r.a.p. on Hey Arnold! but other than that it's A.O.K. 100 and 10% !!!!!!!!
Alright ... There is absolutely no one in my entire household who doesn't know what Nickelodeon is . For one Nick makes tv a whole lot easier to control with shows like Howard Stern , and Loveline on during the day because most of the children in our...
