It's worth to fly with Malaysia Airlines by jofon ,Dec 11 '08
Pros: Speedy kiosk check-in system, helpful staffs, comfortable seats Cons: More movies and radio channels would be appreciated.
This was the first time I fly with Malaysia Airlines and I had a nice trip with them. I want to make a point here that this airline is well worth to fly with. The kiosk check-in service in Kuala Lumpure International Airport was pretty fast and convenient. We waited our flight in the boarding gate just after checking in. The ground staffs were helpful and friendly. All flights were on time and my flight was nearly half full so we had more than a lot of space. Legroom was really good for economy class with only overhead screens and a few radio channels. We were offered two hot meal choices and drinks were served regularly. The flight attendants that served us were very nice.
Flying to Tokyo with Malaysia Airlines Business Class by alixander ,Nov 20 '08
Pros: Clean and comfortable cabin, professional service Cons: Dislike the colour of the new seat covers
My journey to Tokyo started with an eight hour flight with Malaysia Airlines from KLIA to Narita Airport. The flight was a pleasant experience because of MH business class. The business class seat onboard Boeing 777 is really nice especially when the seat can fully recline. This makes catching some sleep on an overnight flight possible. And it's spacious. There is also a back massager which helps relax the back muscles. I should have bought one in my room. On board their staffs serves people in a professinal manner, they are polite and attentive. In a nutshell, there's no regret to choose this airline for travelling long haul.
Pros: Seats with enough legroom, great service & entertainment Cons: Long aisle
It’s quite a long journey to fly from London to Kuala Lumpur. It would have been rather boring, if not for the service of Malaysia Airlines. Initially, I was worried about the seats as I knew we have to stay long hours in the plane. To my relief, it was not bad at all. There was enough legroom to adjust our seats and go for a nap. We were also provided with blankets and pillows to sleep comfortably. The flight attendants were so caring as they kept checking what we needed throughout the journey. I could enjoy all the benefits in the economy class such as watching movies, listening to music and even playing video game. Personal TV screens are provided in all classes with a selection of music, dramas and children’s programmes. Another enjoyable experience for me was in-flight reading. There was a selection of international and Malaysian newspapers on board. As for the in-flight meal, both Asian and Western food were included in the menu. Although it's not really a tasty meal for me, it’s neatly packed and sufficient for us.
Opps..Malaysia Airlines’ Hot Meal Boxes..Hot!! by riy_lee ,Aug 23 '08
Pros: Delicious hot meal Cons: The hot meal is not provided in every route
I've flown to Kota Kinabalu with Malaysia Airlines last week. This is the second time I flew with Malaysia Airlines and this time I could taste its new hot meal boxes on board. I tried the chicken mee and its really delicious. We had grapes and biscuits as our dessert too. I like the design of the hot meal box and its very convenient. It allows us to take away and my sister ate the food after we arrived Kota Kinabalu. Im still keeping the box as one of the reference for my graphic design class. For me, this packed food is deemed a great change. Wish to taste another hot meal in my next flight.
The First Experience with Malaysia Airlines - Great.. by rooki18 ,Aug 14 '08
Pros: Hospitable flight attendants and premium service Cons: Drinks were bit dilute
My brother and I took a flight to Singapore last week with Malaysia Airlines low fare tickets we bought past few months ago. This was the first time my brother flew with Malaysia Airlines. Previously he just opted for budget airlines. Anyway, this had been an enjoyable journey for him because he could finally relax himself on the spacious seat in this plane. The leg room was large enough for my big size brother and he did not feel his legs numb this time. The in-flight food was not bad, although its not enough for my brother. While the drinks were bit dilute. Anyway, were really amazed by their service. The flight attendants were very courteous and attentive to the wishes of the passengers. They kept on checking whether we were settled down and comfortable on our seat. Whenever a passenger needed their help, the flight attendants were all smiled and getting to passengers prompt and quick. Paying such reasonable fare enjoying the excellent service, its really worth flying with Malaysia Airlines. What is on my mind after this? Plan my next trip with Malaysia Airlines!
Kiosk check-in with Malaysia Airlines by susanecy ,Sep 19 '08
Pros: User friendly and a faster way to check-in Cons: Need to find it out where the kiosk was located
A group of twenty of us visited our ex-teacher who has moved to Kuching last week. The organizer of the trip asked us to check in with self-service kiosk at KLIA. For me, this service was quite useful and thus I’d like to highlight it here. When we were at the self-service kiosk, I realized that the line was short and just few minutes it came to our turn. The machine at the self-service kiosk was able to bring up the correct details of our flight. After that we were asked to confirm the details and the check-in would be completed. I found this kiosk was actually quite convenient. Since I was curious about the self-service kiosk, I asked one of the Malaysia Airlines’ staff about the details of using the kiosk to check-in. Apparently, the self-service check-in kiosk has been opened for flights many hours before check-in desks. Hence one could check-in much early or even up to a day before the flight leaves. It’s indeed an efficient way to check-in in the airport.
Pros: None Cons: Bad service, worst cabin staff, might treat you differently if you were a foreigner.
I flew Malaysia airlines from Newark to Kuala Lumpur- I am a Malaysia Indian- the staff were very unfriendly to me- quite rude to me actually, compared to any other airline I have flown. I actually had to fight to get a bottle of water to drink many times on all the flights, which they would not want to give me, I also had to fight with the stewards to let me stand in front, when we landed, as they asked me to go back on place to economy, the flight was an hour late getting in, and the steward was actually very rude- they also did not have their facts straight on the 1-94 forms to fill out, I had to show them what to do. The first time I have flown MAS from the USA- guess what? Won't ever do it again, not worth it.
Hot meal in Malaysia Airlines by zakgoh ,Sep 09 '08
Pros: The food was hot and could be taken away Cons: The fruit was not sweet
I noticed that Malaysia Airlines has its hot meal on board instead of cold sandwiches which I had last time. For the main course, I got the thai mihun with chicken (for those who don’t know, mihun is a kind of noodle made from rice). As for the dessert, I had chocolate tube and grapes. The food was neatly put in the meal box and the meal box was nice-looking. The taste of the mihun was really good and of course the best thing was that the meal was hot. But I don’t like the grapes as they were too sour. To my surprise, we could take away the hot meal box if we don't want to eat on board. I think this is something innovative that Malaysia Airlines has done. I truly prefer this kind of meal box instead of eating with tray which for me is a bit troublesome with heavy plate.
Just returned from a whirlwind tour of Southeast Asia on Malaysia Air (EWR-KUL round trip). Excellent service by ground staff and air crew. Food was great and had our choice of 2-3 entrees for each meal being served. Accommodated us in every way and they truly strive to make your flight comfortable and enjoyable. Seated in coach and each seat has their own LCD to watch movies (choice of 7), TV programs (3-4), play games, listen to music, read the news via cnn.com (limited news, but still nice) or watch flight status/path. Cozy blankets and mini down feather pillows were a nice touch.
Malaysia Airlines' rainbow by brianloo ,Jun 16 '08
Pros: Cheerful cabin & cheerful staff. No delays. Cons: None comes to mind.
Economy Class. KUL to Kuching. Flight took off on time, arrived 10mins early. Their cheerful multicolored seats and new style inflight-meal-in-a-box are so refreshing. Most of all they walk the talk with impeccable service, level or better than First Class of some other airlines of note.
Its website and careline help a lot by mild503 ,Nov 03 '08
Pros: Easy access to their website and careline Cons: Some explanation given by the personnel in their careline was too lengthy
For my family trip I had so many questions for the flight delay. I am quite meticulous and curious and like to prepare things ahead before the time. The Malaysia Airlines website helped a lot, with what they call "Ask MH". Also called their careline to enquire about their travel insurance and online check-in (there were 10 of us!) Although their personnel spoke a bit slow, they showed their respect to me. I had a great trip with my family. Overall flight was great, and my kids enjoyed themselves.
I have been using this airline for many years for different trips. Although there are many other budget airlines which fly to the same destination, my loyalty still go for Malaysia Airlines. The biggest reason is their cabin crew is among the most professional Ive ever met. Still remember my trip to London from Kuala Lumpur three years ago. I was feeling terrible the day of my flight as I was recovering from diarrhea. I felt extremely cold and thus I asked for a blanket just after I boarded the plane. Soon after take-off, my stomach cramped seriously and I was hurting. A stewardess passed by has asked if anything she could help as my facial expression was so painful. She held my arm and accompanied me to the toilet. When I was back to my seat, another stewardess gave me a glass of warm water and helped to switch off the air-con above my seat. I was cared for the entire flight. I really grateful I can say. Although they were busy, they made time to be attentive and thoughtful. Their service was beyond professionalism.
Pros: Flight network within Malaysia Cons: Rude staff, bad food, delays, uncomfortable seats - the list goes on!
"Exceeding Expectations"...well you'd want to have pretty low expectations for what classes as customer service and comfort on this airline. The staff were rude and unhelpful, the flights late, blatant security risks and contradicting gate announcements, No nay NEVER again! - oh and 4 weeks on I'm STILL waiting for a response to my customer contact email!
(slow) service with a smile... by gaijinjoe ,Dec 04 '05
Pros: Courteous, attentive flight attendants, genuinely nice people Cons: Schedules seem to run on "Malay Time" (late!!!)
Had the chance to use Malaysia Airlines for a short Singapore-Penang (SIN-PEN) round-trip. Very pleasant and accommodating cabin crew, edible meals (both would be "excellent" compared to most domestic US service). Would have probably given them 4 stars if they could keep anything even close to a schedule (both legs were late by over one hour). Give yourself PLENTY of padding in your itinerary if you are flying them to any connections...
Pros: Easy and very friendly to visitors and costumers either internationals or domestics Cons: Sometimes delays
Yes, it is the best airline to travel to Malaysia. Easy and very friendly to visitors and costumers either internationals or domestics but sometimes there are some problems beyond controls. Please visit malaysia if you don't have ideas about malaysia, please visit this links : http://malaysiasearch.net76.net
Malaysia Airlines Customer service is the absolutely worst by sreddi ,Dec 18 '05
Pros: KL airport is clean Cons: Bad Food
Bad customer service
Malaysia airlines lost my baggage when I traveled from the US to India. 4 weeks later, I still can't anybody to respond to my voice mail messages or emails. Nobody in baggage service even answers the phone. When Singapore airlines lost my baggage, the service I received to find my bags and compensate me for my troubles was absolutely outstanding. Malaysia airlines should be ashamed to even compare themselves to Singapore airlines or any airlines for that matter.
Pros: Easy check-in,good crew, good food, comfy seats Cons: Couldn't understand pilot, would have like to have a few more drinks.
Check-in was painless in both ADL, KUL and HKT. All flights departed and arrived on or before time. The planes were very clean and well presented but the toilets ran out of things like tissues by the end of the flight. All in all I would highly recommend flying MAS.
MEL-KUL-PEN-KUL-LHR-LAX-TPE-KUL-MEL in Business Class. Malaysia Airlines are truly one of the great airlines of the world. Having just completed a round the word trip with them I can honestly say I have never received better service and attention from an airline, they truly go beyond what you would expect. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Golden Club Lounges are fantastic in MEL and KUL, the one in LAX though needs a facelift. Cabin crew on all flights were exceptional, warm and responsive, constantly roaming the cabin, topping up water etc. All flights bar the final KUL- MEL were in the old Golden Club seats which are old but still comfortable over a long flight, KUL- MEL was with the new upgraded lie-flat seats which were great, cabin lighting also changed from yellow colours to a deep blue overnight creating a fantastic effect. Overall I cannot recommend Malaysia Airlines enough, much better than the likes of SQ, CX, EK. Try them and you will be pleasantly suprised!

Pros: Punctual, clean, friendly staffs Cons: Legroom is far roomier for the middle seats
Based on my experiences, I would say that Malaysia Airlines offers excellent services. They would be my first choice for flights to Australia or Asia. The flight was on time and the plane was clean. The cabin crews were very friendly and always seemed pleased to help. The entertainment was better than other airlines I have flown with. As for the legroom, it was barely sufficient but otherwise seats were very comfortable. I would advise travelers to stick with the middle seats since they're far roomier and one can make a quick getaway to the restroom. In making comparisons with other airlines I'd consider the cuisine of Malaysian Airlines to be above average but possibly not the best. Overall, this may be the suitable airline to travel on if you are going to Asia.
