Pros: Extensive route network, roissy a good hub Cons: Lousy ground service, variable inflight standards, lack of customer orientation, disregard of elite passengers
Air France used to be a pleasure to fly with great food, high quality champagne and friendly and accommodating staff.
Since the alliance with Delta and opening of the stunningly beautiful and efficient Terminal 2F at Roissy CDG airport in...

Pros: polite service; timely; comfortable; great food! Cons: It was difficult to communicate with the attendants because I didn't speak French and they didn't speak English very well. Movie selection wasn't too great.
If there is anything to be said about a plane trip that lasts for more hours than can be counted on the fingers of two hands, it is definitely agony. That is, unless you happen to be so fortunate as to be aboard an AIR FRANCE flight.
It was...

Pros: food, space, comfort Cons: loosing my reserved tickets
I am one of the fortunate few that gets to fly to France at least once a year. When I do so, my airline of choice is Air France. That is not to say that Air France doesn't have its problems, but I believe the good far outweigh the bad.

Pros: I'm thinking, something will come to mind eventually - Pleasant cabin crew Cons: Dishonesty, witholding information, Bad mouthing competitors, Delays, Lost baggage, L-O-N-G Lines, Disregard for customers
Recently I flew from Philadelphia to Budapest and back with 5 people. The only things even remotely positive about the trip were that a) the cabin crew was pleasant and b) I'll never have contact with Air France again.
I've never hit the...

Pros: Cheap Price Cons: Uncaring staff, poor leg room
I travelled with Air France from Glasgow to Bangkok via Paris.
The first leg was on a Embraer regional jet, it was certainly the smallest commercial jet I had ever flown. One seat, the aisle then two seats, thats it ! Having said that, the...

Pros: Cheapish fares in comparison to many other airlines on this route; food is OK Cons: Completely devoid of civility. Will not solve problems caused by their actions even when possible.
My brother and I travelled on AF2271 in October to connect to a flight in Charles de Gaulle for Johannesburg. The flight was delayed due to the actions of the airline (i.e. they allowed someone aboard with what appeared to be no boarding card, who then ...

Pros: food, liberal upgrades Cons: fashionably late, their hub
My wife and I flew to Zambia in summer 2004. Air France from Dulles to Paris (with a five day stopover) then to Johannesburg with connections there with South African to Lusaka then connections to bush aircraft to safari camp. Return was from Zambia to ...

Pros: On time Cons: People traveling with young children are punished for daring to travel with them.
I have been traveling AF for some years and my experience on them was not at all bad, especially since I used to stopover in Paris for a couple days for free. Traveling with my kids, however, was a trip from HELL. I was five months pregnant and ...

Pros: Good service, kind flight attendants, good food, decent seat pitch. AF shuttle bus Cons: CDG is confusing the first time. Monitor the news for transportation strikes.
I've flown to Europe six times in the past couple of years. Twice on AF, thrice on Lufthansa, and once on Delta.
AF is consistently the better of the three. Lufthansa's seat pitch must be designed by a midget Dominatrix.
I'm 190 cm tall, 110...

Pros: Problem was eventually solved Cons: Rude, discourteous agents; wrong times posted; no self check-in; no signs
To make a very long story shorter, I will try not go into too much detail, but believe you me, there is plenty of it. :P After missing an Air France connection because of a 6-hour Delta delay, my (Swedish) husband was re-booked by Delta on Air France ...

Pros: Nothing Cons: Customer Service Nightmares
We first flew Air France two years ago. We were warned that their hub system in Paris is inadequate – that passengers were at risk of missing connections. We called Air France to try and give ourselves more time, but they insisted there would be no...

Pros: great food Cons: poor customer service, invisible flight attendants
Recently I flew Air France from Los Angeles LAX to Papeete, Tahiti and return. This was an eight hour flight aboard a 747-400. I flew economy and the aircraft was full. There was average leg room. The seats could have had a bit more padding. The ...

Pros: Excellent service, rare in economy class these days. Good food, nice crews, comfy seats. Cons: Connection in Paris can be tiring.
Air France offers the best economy class service. Much better than Swiss, Continental, British or American Airlines. We flew from Geneva to New York roundtrip via Paris and were very satisfied. Check in in Geneva and in New York was fast and ...

Pros: cheap Cons: nasty, lost luggage, unsafe planes, attitude, dirty toilets

Pros: in-flight food, service Cons: delays, lost luggage, in-flight entertainment
Over the holidays, I had the great misfortune of flying roundtrip from Tokyo to Paris (and Milan) via Air France. The tickets were reasonable considering the season and I had only positive expectations about traveling on this airline. After all, French...
