Pros: Efficient, good on-time performance, well-organized. Cons: Had to pick up tickets at airline office in SF; not sure why.
My first trip with TACA was a vacation trip to Belize and return from Flores, Guatemala. We left from SFO, changed planes in San Salvador, and arrived in Belize City with all our luggage and no problems. We were originally scheduled to return from ...

Pros: new, clean aircraft. Competitive pricing. Cons: Poor at solving problems and no compensation for their mistakes.
We traveled from Lima, Peru to Quito, Ecuador on Grupo TACA. We were at first very pleased with the beautiful, clean planes and kind flight staff. We had read where TACA has the newest fleet of planes in Latin American, and enjoyed our first flight....

Pros: Excellent price, attentive staff and on-time arrivals. Cons: Quality of the meals and in-flight entertainment and audio.
I decided to fly TACA from Lima to Miami (via San Jose, Costa Rica) because it was the cheapest way to do so. My previous experiences with them were quite good, so I was looking forward to the flight. TACA offers the chance to pre-check yourself the ...

Pros: We landed safely Cons: rude staff, poor systems, zero customer service, delays
Unfortunately, there are few options for flying to Belize. That wouldn't be a problem if Belize weren't such a wonderful destination. With the primary option being TACA, I may never visit Belize again.
On arrival in Houston, I checked in for...

Pros: They are cheap Cons: Bad service, and bad maintenance..
I fly at least five to six time a year to different countries, and within the United States. Until now I had never flown with "The Taca Team" before, but I was going to give it a try despite the bad reputation that Taca already has among many...

Pros: price and availability Cons: too many to mention
I think you have been very lucky with TACA. We fly this airline on a monthly basis and if you get lucky, it is pretty decent. I have had ALL my luggage left behind not for one day but three! They do not care. They cannot do anything about it. The...

Pros: cheap, fly to a lot of out of the way places Cons: low on punctuality, efficiency, reliability
How to avoid getting stranded somewhere in Central America: make sure that when the flight number says TA, the flight is actually operated by them. Otherwise you may find yourself marooned in some sweaty Central American city.
In my...

Pros: goos service Cons: unusual boarding process
Lacsa Airlines ( formely part of Grupo Taca) is a very friendly airline, from customer service to up in the air. I flew back in 1999 Miami-San Jose-Miami. The food was eatable and both flights were ontime. The only thing that I found uncomfortable was...

Pros: route structure, new airbus planes Cons: customer service.
I just returned from San Pedro Sula, Honduras via TACA... I traveled from New Orleans during the hectic Mardi Gras Season. When departing I admit, I was expecting to pay a REASONABLE sum for my 3 extra bags...
When I got to the ticket counter we...

Pros: Treats a customer like a customer Cons: Allows too much/too big carry on luggage which hinders boarding
Good job Taca..............
I have flown Taca Airlines on at least 10 trips over the last six months of 1999 to and from Miami, Fla. - San Pedro Sula, Honduras. And, because my trips start in Pennsylvania, I need to make several flights to get to...

I was surprised to read the favorable comments about this airline. I live in Central America and unfortunately, I often have to fly Grupo Taca and have had almost on every occasion a unfavorable experience.
The airline always oversells their...

Pros: they didn't charge other things to my card like stereos etc. ?? Cons: they charged my credit card and didn't issue the tickets.
My ex-wife used my Amex card to reserve tickets from Costa Rica to Miami for she and my two daughters. She made the reservation by phone. After she finished giving all her personal and flight information the Taca rep said, "but you won't be able to get ...

Pros: The flight did not crash Cons: poor customer service, rude staff, lost bags, lack of responsibility, everything!
Horrible nightmare airline- On my trip to Peru lost my bags for 5 days- never took responsibility and I found out that no one even called L.A. where the main hub of baggage tranfers take place until the 4th day despite saying "we are trying to locate the ...

Pros: They used to be cheap, which would explain the service issue, but not anymore Cons: When THEY make a mistake, they treat YOU like the bad guy
Flying with TACA from Guatemala to Costa Rica, TACA airlines lost a piece of baggage of mine. Upon arrival in Costa Rica they were reluctant to help me at all, claiming at first that "Well, your baggage never left Guatemala, so it's not our fault." Are yo ...
