Pros: Dubai-based airlines offers an extensive array of flights to several continents. Cons: Not many flights out-of-the USA. Typically expensive. Economy Cabin configuration makes for crowded conditions!
This summer we flew Emirates from Dubai to Victoria, Mahe (The Seychelles). There arent many airlines servicing the Seychelles, and the traveler is limited to two airlines flying out of the UAE and two from London and Paris. Due to lack of ...
Pros: Service. Food. Entertainment. Cons: Bit cramped.

Pros: Very clean aircraft, Great cabin services Cons: You have to leave from JFK

Pros: Good in-flight entertainment, excellent website, good lounges, decent food, safety record. Cons: Unreliable staff performance, unreliable booking system, rigidity.

Pros: ICE is an awesome entertainment system Cons: Very few empty seats, impersonal flight attendents (most of the time) Water service irregular

Pros: efficient, excellent in-flight service, best in-flight entertainment system available Cons: not connected to a global alliance, limited North American routes
It's widely known that among the world's airlines, Emirates Airlines is one of the top ranking transportation companies. The reputation is well deserved. They are well above (if you'll pardon the pun) their European and North American competitors, and...
Pros: The 380! More room in economy Attentive service Excellent food Cons: None specifically on this flight

Pros: Excellent in-flight service and entertainment Cons: Overbooking of flights

Pros: The food was OK. Cons: Service. Comfort. Constant delays.

I have travelled twice with Emirates From India to Dubai (India-DXB). On both occasions, me and my fellow passengers had to wait to board after the security check. They always had some trouble during boarding. Maybe because Emirates is quite orthodox and...
Pros: We chose Emirates because they had the most convenient timings Cons: Everything else. The most horrible airline experience of my life.

Pros: Service, legroom, food and overall standard of aircraft. Cons: Business & first class less lavish than expected. No alliance membership.

Pros: In my experience, everything but the con Cons: sorta racist
I have flown a number of times in both Economy and Business on Emirates over the past 5 years, and have only had one bad flight experience, and that had more to do with the one-hour non-stop flight turbulence that almost made me throw up.
Pros: Good IFE on the newer planes. Pleasant staff. Good food. Cons: Overcrowded planes
Flew from BHX to DXB then to Male (Maldives). B777 was a great plane, all new with great IFE. Food was good. This plane was not full despite being told at BHX that it was a full flight. After 7 hours and a 2 1/2 hour wait a DXB was greatly ...

Pros: Comfortable Seats, excellent entertainment system. Cons: Limited service network (small airline), no links with global alliances.
I flew Emirates in economy class from Nairobi to Dubai, and then to Hong Kong via Bankok, in each case on one of their Boeing 777 aircraft. I had heard that Emirates was rated the #1 airline for 2000, and so I expected a lot.
Pros: Good Food and New/Sophisticated flights Cons: Worst Customer Service ..
Except for Food and New/Sophisticated flights .. Customer service is really bad. My brand new laptop was stolen from my check-in baggage while traveling from PHL to MAA(India) in an Emirate's flight on Nov 28 to 30 , 2007. While i was carrying the ...

Pros: Narrower seats than competitors Cons: Time to improve

Pros: Modern Fleet, Inflight entertainment. Good food and Wines Cons: Costly, Service is either brilliant or very poor. You'll compare everybody else to Emirates.

Pros: - Cons: Small airline, run and managed by small people
DON'T FLY EMIRATES.
I flew with them from Manila via Dubai to Istanbul. On the Istanbul leg, a stewardess dropped three extremely hot aluminium trays of food on me. The trays were so hot, she couldn't hold on to them even though she had gloves on. I had numerous 2nd degree burns on my neck and shoulder. In addition my really expensive Italian suit, shirt, tie, trousers were soiled. I was promised healthcare and dry cleaning or replacement of my clothes by the Purser.
what did I get. Not even an apology. I still have the scars, and had to throw away my clothes. Thank you emirates. The small airline, run by small people
Emirates - depends on the plane by ms10 ,May 24 '06
Pros: Entertainment and food. Cons: Ageing Airbuses.
All in all, I would put the best Emirates has to offer as the best econonmy flying there is. This refers to their relatively new crop of Boeing 777s - spacious, comfortable, plenty of storage - but most importantly, the entertainment system. Around 150 films on demand make a 24 hour flight from UK to Australia pass so much quicker.
This onboard accommodation contrasts with their older Airbuses with much inferior entertainment systems. They also have a highly irritating large plastic box in the foot-well, significantly reducing the legroom.
Otherwise, the food and service are excellent, if a little reticent with the alcoholic drinks compared to some.
Pros: Great child's meals and toys Cons: Unprofessional and rude crew members, delayed flights, messy cabin
We were looking forward to flying on Emirates after hearing of their top rating. We traveled from Singapore to Dubai to Jordan and back to Dubai and Singapore (stayed in Dubai a couple nights each way). We are frequent flyers in both Economy and Business classes and this time we flew Economy.
The cabin crew was HORRIBLE!! One crew member on the Sing-Dubai leg was constantly bickering at other members, which was very disruptive and unprofessional. From Dubai-Jordan, another crew member kept spilling lunches and drinks all over the place. Another customer across the aisle went to complain about her to the lead attendant.
Our flight from Jordan-Dubai was delayed 2 hours. Above all, I was traveling at 28 weeks pregnant and was asked by the check-in agent, gate agent, and cabin crew for my "fit-to-travel" letter ... they need to coordinate much better among the three.
Overall, a terrible experience and we will NEVER fly them again. We will stick with other European and Asian carriers. How in the world were they ranked as one of the best???
Pros: nothing 'top three' when compared to other airlines Cons: packed flight showed me the real Emirates service. Food better on its regional rivals
How on Earth Emirates was voted in the top three best airlines is a mystery. The pros quoted by others in this section are widely available on many other airlines, especially Emirates' regional rivals, most of whom offer cheaper flights.
The sign of a top airline should be the service received during a full flight. When the pressure is up a top airline should leave the passenger with good memories of itself. Emirates was very average in its popular Dubai-Heathrow flight. Unfortunately, the same experience still remained on other Emirates flights.
Emirates: friendliest cabin crews I've ever come across by altavanzyl ,Jan 19 '05
Pros: Friendliest cabin crews ever, good food; punctuality of flights. Cons: What, no sleeping mask and toothbrush kit?
I flew from Rome, Italy (12 December 2004) to Brisbane, Australia and back (13 January 2005) and was so impressed with the service (always friendly, always helpful), the food, the punctuality (or was I just lucky, for all my flights left on time!)that it made a cramped time in Economy very bearable.
Oh, and the damp towels on take-off, what a nice touch! Also, moisturising cream in the toilets, for one's skin gets very dry on such a long flight.
Emirates - beware of the conditions by robert7691 ,Nov 16 '07
Pros: Nothing good about them Cons: Everything about Emirates
I booked 2 business class tickets only to discover several months later that when I wanted to cancel them - there would be NO refund. The e-ticket or booking confirmation had no indication of this condition - never in 17 years of flying have I ever encountered such a condition for business class tickets.
Will never fly them again - for those wanting to fly them, be very careful.
Emirates Unreliable and Unprofessional Staff by sam101ny ,Mar 14 '04
Pros: n/a Cons: Extremely unprofessional and unreliable staff.
Recently just traveled Emirates overseas (was a frequent flyer before this trip), not only did we have issues with our seats but when we received our luggage stuff was missing. Tried to talk to the staff but they were extremely unprofessional and made us wait around for at least 30-45 minutes and still got nowhere as far as the resolution. The sad part is that we were traveling Business Class, which Emirates is marketed as one of the best but their staff turned out to be one of the worst. There are far better airlines to travel with.
Pros: Frequency. Cons: Indifferent and ineffeicient service.
I travel frequently on Emirates primarily because of their frequency out of Karachi.
However, FA's on the Karachi-Dubai Sector are usually indifferent or rude. Additionally, who needs FA's on this Sector who can speak French or Croat!!!! EK needs more Urdu speaking Staff on this sector.
Food is usually inedible.
Beverage service is horrific.
I also use EK on the Dubai-London and Dubai-JFK Sectors.
Whilst the service on these latter sectors is marginally better, it leaves much to be desired.
Seating is cramped with hardly any legroom. Now i know what Sardines feel like!!!!
The CORE Business/ Revenue of any Airline comes from its Economy Passengers.
Unfortunately, The Economy Passenger is the one that gets SCREWED the Most! BY ALL AIRLINES.
Come on Emirates. You were the Airline of Choice ONCE!!!!
To make a very long story short, I flew to India in January and in the process Emirates misplaced my checked in baggage. I finally received it 6 days after I landed and most of the contents were missing. I tried filing a baggage claim two days after but I was not able to get in contact with anyone from emirates. Every time I called they would send me to the wrong department or tell me they would forward the information to the correct department. After calling very frequently, I finally got someone to call me in the month of May. After trying to resolve this matter, I get a letter in June telling me that I didn't the claim within the 21 day period.
One of the Best Airlines by ivoryholidays ,Feb 19 '07
Pros: I wish to fly again and again with EK Cons: There is NONE so far !!!
Being a tour operator for India, Nepal and Bhutan. I always ask my clients to take this flight as its very reliable on time. The service is A Class. The Inflight crew is excellent with positive manner. Specially I love that they have different nationals onboard for services.
Pros: Meals Cons: Seating and Cabin Crew Attitudes
Flew emirates long-haul to London Heathrow.
The Crew were absolutely rude. They lacked attention to detail and had little to care for.
Twice did I ask for water and none of the times did I get any.
Food way great though. Great portions with great drinks. If only they would learn how to smile to passengers!
Puncuality was poor. Departed from Dubai 60 minutes behind schedule with the captain mentioning 'aircraft maintance' as the reason. Not reassuring!!
We arrived safely though, but wish the seats were more apt to sleep on. Very crowded in a 3-4-3 configuration; where other airlines would settle for a 3-3-3 configuration in their B.777 economy section.
Careful: Emirates tends to cramp you in.. and that we all noticed!
Emirates: one of the best by nickcoper ,Jul 08 '05
Pros: great: food, service, seats, and EVERY THING Cons: not partnered to many North American airlines and not enough North American hubs.
Emirates is a great airline that has amazing services! I have flown first class and business class, both wonderful. people are saying that the first class isn't all of what they thought it would be, that is because they have high expectations, way above the clouds. Emirates has almost the best first class, if not the best, and business is pretty nice, not the best, but its still great all the same! I have heard that their coach isn't all that bad, I haven't flown it yet.
I would tell any one that emirates is the airline to fly!!
plus don't get mad if you you have a bad flight, they always happen, no matter what airline, just try them again.
Pros: Very pleasant and helpful flight attendants Cons: Seats (size and comfort), food
We just completed 2 international flights on Emirates, one on a 777 and one an Airbus 330. Every row on each plane had an extra seat, compared to the other major airlines, and seat widths were generally one class below--e.g., the business class seats were the same width as coach on the international US airlines, and first class the same as business class. Leg room was no longer. The seats were, to put it mildly, grossly uncomfortable. The food ranged from totally bland and tough to too spicy.
Pros: Getting out of Dubai eventually Cons: chaotic transfers at Dubai
rude and unhelpful staff
baggage handling v bad
Flew from LGW via Dubai to KLIA on 5th March. There was an 8.5 hour delay due to fog at Dubai. Arrived at Dubai to utter chaos. 400 passengers were left to stand for up to 14 hours at the transfer desks with no Emirates ground staff in sight. This was then topped off by rude and unhelpful staff who happened to lose our bags for 7 days once we eventually managed to get a Yemen Airways flight the next day. We were treated appaulingly and I will never fly Emirates again.
Pros: schedule convenience, fairly consistent service, facilities Cons: price per mile flown, seat comfort, Dubai airport is like a camp site.
Bahrain ~ Dubai ~ Johannesburg return economy Jan 2006. I chose Emirates because of the schedule which was convenient for me. The airline is fairly reliable and the entertainment device (ICE) in the back of the seats is very good when compared to other airlines. The seat comfort is terrible although I found the pitch acceptable. Baggage handling in Joburg was a joke and it took over an hour just to retrieve baggage because they forgot to load one of the bins of bags onto the conveyors;Emirates ground staff seemed overwhelmed and lacked empathy with frustrated passengers. Check in staff at all locations were mediocre although well staffed. Dubai airport was as per usual littered with passengers sleeping on the floors, surly security screeners and buses rather than walkways to get from plane/terminal was disappointing. Food was reasonable as were flight attendants. The Emirates flying experience is mediocre at best. Flight cost for this route seemed double what I would pay in US for similar mileage or to even cross the Atlantic.
Pros: Great entertainment, ambiance and staff Cons: Make sure management organises their first class meals efficiently!
First time on Emirates for me, the first class suite was fabulous, good privacy and top class entertainment. However, I was taken aback when my choice of main course was not available! You must be kidding? This after I was given a menu and told you can order anytime you want. Well, I ordered one meal and it was not available...makes you feel that you have been downgraded back to economy. Overall the cabin staff was attentive and very pleasant.
Pros: Good flight if you dont mind rude crew members Cons: Racist crew members
My mom travelled from BLR to Dubai and Dubai to JFK, We had opted for Asian Vegetarian food. She was not given any food and was ignored since she doesnt know english. she later complained another Indian Passenger about this and then they said the food is all out and no more food left. If they treat a 57 year old passenger this way, I dont know how they can be numbered as one. I guess the Staffs need to get some training on treating old people.
Pros: 23 hours flight time from LAX-DXB-MAA Cons: Service Food Air Hostress Almost all
I have travelled from LAX to DXB and then to MAA yesterday. First time I flew in Emirates. For the last 9 years I flew in Singapore Airlines. I just wanted to try Emirates. Very very bad experience. Not just me. Whoever boarded from LAX, not happy with this Airline.
1. Very bad service. All the Air hostress need the basic training. They are very rude. They were fighting among themselves. Not a friendly atmosphere. Air hostress are eating all the time. They don't care about the passengers. (I can't even compare their service with Singapore Airlines)
2. Food. huh... Whenever I think about their food, I feel like I am going to puke.
3. If you are travelling with baby, please, please look for alternatives. Emirates is not kid/baby friendly. Samething applies to elder passengers.
These air hostress were very rude. They don't listen to you.
After too much hesitation, I selected this airlines. But it failed me. I will never ever fly again with this Airlines.
Changing return schedule will cost you $200 !!! by ravi_ess ,Jul 15 '09
Pros: Stick to your schedule Cons: Unless you can throw out $200
Be warned that Emirates charges $200 for rescheduling your return iternary. Many other airlines do not charge this fee. Most airlines do charge for changing onward schedule though.
Emirates hate my guitar by markhaskins ,Jul 22 '09
Pros: Nothing in particular Cons: They treat baggage with no respect. Staff are incompetent. Check in is slow and stupid.
Emirates airline staff promised the safe carriage of my most beloved guitar. Upon landing, it was spat out of the conveyor belt practially in pieces. After a long wait and a massive telephone chain... they will not take responsibility for the instrument and I will receive no compensation. I was not the only person complaining on that day about such an incident. I have no love for this airline...
