Pros: Good customer service, great prices. Cons: Lousy "snack" and some planes have cramped seating.
This morning I just came back from a very well needed vacation. Work has been tremendously difficult this spring and Summer, and I’ve been very close to burning out. The best means of getting rid of all this stress was to take a vacation.
I...

Pros: Excellent service-great fares Cons: -
If you read my last review, you know that we had to change our planned vacation on rather short notice. Instead of a European vacation, we had to shorten the length of our trip and stay closer to home. We decided to go to a familiar and favorite U.S...

Pros: Generally clean planes, relatively reasonable fares, food is edible Cons: Options for upgrading are now limited
I last flew America West from Reagan National Airport in Washington to Phoenix in September. As this was a Priceline ticket, I could not expect anything but my seat in steerage, but I did note that their rules for upgrading had been...

Pros: Beautiful, warm Phoenix as a hub. Cons: Large airport, your jetways can be a ways apart.
What's a (bearded?) grandma to do? Zekiah was born after a lengthy birthing process and of course, Grandma had to go see her precious little grandsons, Zekiah and Phenix. Reservations I went to their website (www.americawest.com) after ...

Pros: They pay special attention to those with extra Needs. Inexpensive. Polite Crew! Cons: This is your NO FRILLS airline
Give me a ticket for an aeroplane!
While still recovering from knee surgery it became urgent that I get my care at another locale. I went online to Lowestfare.com, but I wasn’t happy with the amount of choices available. Not airlines,...

Pros: Great attitudes by all staff I've encountered; pretty low ticket prices; excellent frequent flyer program Cons: Flights are usually pretty full; not a HUGE variety with destinations; inconsistent aircrafts
When it comes to traveling, I am a firm believer that the oldest is the best. This is in any respect: rental car companies, tour operators, hotels, and, most of all, airlines. You may disagree with me, which is fine, but I hold fast to my beliefs. ...

Pros: low fare, decent customer service, flights stick to schedule Cons: pack light or don't pack at all; expect to be on an overbooked flight
Last month I traveled to Phoenix for a long weekend. It provided me the opportunity to escape the unusually wet weather we were having in California as well as allow me to catch the final days of baseball’s Spring Training. I have a friend who lives in ...

Pros: Clean aircraft, professional flight crew, decent food. Cons: Disorganized ground staff. Bad ticket counter layout.
Recently, I paid a visit to the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California. When I booked the trip, I had the option of flying into either Los Angeles, CA, or Las Vegas, NV. I chose Vegas because I’d never been there before, and it was only ...

Pros: Low price, clean planes Cons: Disorganized, constant delays, incompetent/unhelpful customer service, frequent gate changes
I rarely review products that have been reviewed a lot already, and I certainly have never reviewed a product that has 217 reviews to its credit. However, I will review America West for no other reason than that I feel like unloading what was ...

Pros: Nice and professional flight attendants, easy boarding and check-in, and cheap fares. Cons: NO individual air vents (very hot), and also inconsistency on dining.
This Thanksgiving, I flew to Phoenix, AZ, their main hub, to visit some family. The cheapest fare was with America West, with a nonstop flight from Austin, TX. Checking-in: "Leaving Austin" ; America West had self check-in, ...
