Just flew America West back from Las Vegas. I have to give them good marks for improvement. Flight was overbooked but working with the gate agent, we found another flight leaving three minutes earlier than original flight connecting through Cleveland OH and I got into Philly at 9 instead of 6:30 a.m. So for a delay of two and a half hours I got a free ticket. The agent even comped me to a few free drinks for the inconvenience. I have had my issues with US Air and America West in the past but I think they are improving.

Would definitely fly them again. Recommend getting to the airport early so that you can get a seat assignment. Also wish they had there IT systems consolidated better but overall B experience and a B+/A- for extra effort getting everyone out of Vegas on a Friday night.

In Jan. of this year I checked a set of golf clubs at W. Palm, FL en route to Mpls. Upon arrival two of my clubs were stolen after the bag was checked, at a cost of $650. After botching the pilferage claim (trainee in Mpls.) I was able to muddy my way through to someone who helped me out. I authored a letter an accompanied it with the necessary documentation for recovery. It took 3 months, but I did get reimbursed for my loss, which is all I was asking for. Colossal inconvenience, but in my epinion, they did what was necessary to make it right. I'm anticipating a follow up call to check my complaints re: their customer service throughout this ordeal, but "anticipate" may be setting the bar a little high. So much potential to differentiate themselves from other carriers, but I feel they are only competing with the SW's of the world and that's unfortunate.

Thanks for the safe ride across the Pacific. We only had an issue with aircraft that US airways/America West chooses. To travel 6 1/2 hours, cramped on a old airplane made it the most uncomfortable ride I have ever been on. It was a 757-200 from PHX-HNL.
We had excellent service and the crew was great. Hopefully, one day they will add bigger aircraft on this route. Maybe 767 or A330, anything that will make you not feel so cramped.
