Pros: Low Price, Friendly staff Cons: None for me
I was on vacation last week, and flew America West. This was my second time flying America West, as I had flown on them last May.
I left Indianapolis on Monday 3/13 at 5:15pm. The check-in agent was really friendly and helpful. A quick and...

Pros: Good fares, flexible schedules and improving service for Vegas flights Cons: Long check-in lines; overselling is commonplace (so check in early!)
I recently completed a trip with America West after not having flown with them for a year, and I'm pleased to say the airline is changing for the better. It's still not perfect. (Show me an airline that *is*.) But the improvements are a work in...

Pros: Cheap! New planes. Convenient hubs if you are in the west. Cons: Zero communication skills. Frequent delays.
Having just read all these America West comments, I HAD to write one of
my own. (I flew 100,000 miles on them in 1999 and 50,000 on American)
First: All of you who complain that the plane is packed: Quit
whining. It is packed because...

Pros: an average flight and cheap price Cons: very very rude flight attendants
I recently took a trip to Las Vegas using America West. It was not a good trip. I didn't have the problems many people have with flight delays, cancellations, etc. I just didn't have a very good trip.
I took America West because it was...

Pros: Cheaper than some other flights. Cons: Poor service, late flights, cranky employees.
I'm still recovering from my Thanksgiving holiday. That's why it's taken me a while to write this epinion. After all, we were going to see my in-laws (enough said) AND we were misguided enough to fly America West airlines for a long flight WITH our 5...

Pros: reliable, affordable Cons: you fly in and out of airports
Well, unlike everybody else here @ Epinions, I've had pretty good experiences with America West. Then again, I *despise* Southwest and they got rave reviews. Go figure. Anyway, as I say, I like America West. They go most of the places I want to go,...

Pros: Frequent flier program Cons: Delays
After reading a lot of people's comments here, I would like to add a few of my own. I've flown several hundred thousand miles with about a dozen carriers for work and personal reasons. For every bad experience with a carrier, I can relate to several...

Pros: None Cons: Lousy service, greedy policies
I purchased a ticket for $400 on America West from Phoenix to Columbus in Nov. 2000, but then had to cancel. They said "non-refundable, with a $70 service charge to reschedule." OK, I can live with that. Now I want to book travel for me and my wife and...

Pros: Cheap price Cons: Everything related to timeliness, customer service
I flew on America West in the summer of 1998. My flight was from San Francisco to Boston with a layover in Phoenix for about an hour and a half. I bought my ticket for the roundtrip flight for $330 on priceline.com. What a disaster!
The...

Pros: They do have lear jets instead of props Cons: just about everything you can think of
America West Airlines always patted themselves on the back and boasted of great customer service . In fact I was told that they were the best in the business .
Well that may have been true at one time but in the past few years I have seen this...

Pros: Frequent Flier Program, Low Fares Cons: Some Delays, Inadequate Schedule
Living in Phoenix, I have flown over 100 flights on America West in the past year, and have yet to have the sort of disaster that I often read about. I have had delayed flights, as well as a few cancelled flights, but I have had the same on every...

Pros: good service Cons: no leg room
America West Airlines has, by far, the easiest web site there is for trip planning, booking flights, comparing fares and schedules. I had no trouble finding the date and time I wanted to travel. I had options to go non-stop or take a less expensive...

Pros: Cheap Fares, Good Schedules to/from Phoenix Cons: Baggage Service, Dated Aircraft Interiors
Background
I had a 10 day vacation flying out of DC National on December 29, 2000 and spending 3 days in Phoenix, before flying on January 1 to San Diego and then returning on December 6. I used frequent flier miles to get a open jaw...

Pros: Not afraid of death, it can't be worse! Cons: Everything
Do you ever have one of those days? America West has 365 of them a year (366 on leap years). I was travelling for business, from Burbank, California, to Dallas, Texas. The flight to Dallas was torturous. I've never been in a window seat, that didn't have...
