Pros: Many ways to accrue miles BESIDES flying, excellent customer service, free flights! Cons: None
When choosing an airline, the top consideration most people give depends NOT on the quality of service they have received, but on the simple fact that they have previously flown and received credit from that initial flight toward a FREE FUTURE FLIGHT in...

Pros: lots of opportunities to accrue miles without flying Cons: don't expect to have the miles added to your balance in a timely manner
United Airlines continues to impress me with the little things that they do to make their customers feel welcome. On each of my past few United flights, I've been pleased with simple things like on-line check-in and their new Economy Plus section ...

Pros: About the same as any other airline program Cons: Your name gets sold
We belong to several frequent flier programs, and frankly there is none that is a particular favorite. We probably have more activity with Northwest, due to our account with Sprint.
However, sometimes United's program seems to have a problem...

Pros: free Cons: no cheaper fares, junk mail
As a frequent flyer, while I normally stick to Delta airlines, I like to have all of my bases covered, so to speak. Yes, I'm one of Those - the type who is a member of every frequent flyer program of any airline I'd even consider flying....

Pros: Strong partnerships, largest worldwide route structure (Star Alliance), many bonus opportunities Cons: Availability is tight to popular destinations, customer service below the superelite level is VERY poor.
I'm not sure which is larger: AAdvantage or MileagePlus. It doesn't really matter however, because any serious mileage addict will probably want to accrue miles in both accounts.
In general, I focus on AA first and UA second, because I like...

Pros: Mile program has a credit card for earning more miles quickly. Cons: You need to know the rules and fly alot to make it worth it.
I am a business consultant by trade and so I tend to travel alot. Now I even travel abroad so a mileage program is a no brainer. I have been a member of the Mileage Plus program since 1999 and at this point I have Premier status which is good I guess. ...
