Pros: Great fares, friendly, efficient service between Mainland and Honolulu Cons: Inter-island service could be better
My family has always flown either United or American to Hawaii on all our previous trips simply because we had booked far enough in advance (8-9 months!) to use our frequent flier miles. However, for our recent trip in November of 2003 we booked on a ...
Pros: All bags hand-checked; nice, new, clean planes. Cons: Bag checkers and crew were not friendly.
We recently went to Hawaii and flew 2 different airlines between islands. The one I am reviewing now is Hawaiian Airlines. The other one, which I reviewed, was Aloha Airlines.
Pros: New fleet, lots of destinations, sometimes cheapest fair Cons: Poor on-time commitment, customer service, interisland first class a joke
Update As of January 2003, Hawaiian Airlines and Aloha Airlines have eliminated their coupon system. Now, tickets may be purchased by the following scale.
$66 if purchased 7 days in advance
$70 at least 3 days in advance

Pros: new planes, friendly, good time keeping, good baggage handling, short flight comfortable. Cons: You cannot book direct if you are not US based, schedule changes, HNL airport.
Since flown multiple sectors throughout 2005 on Hawaiian in First. Only noticeable changes, lounges except HNL getting tattier. At KOA and LIH, Furniture showing wear and drinks machines often broken. One humorous note, Agent commented one bag was ...
Pros: great service, good local food, great frequent flyer program Cons: not always the cheapest option, but then again, it is relatively inexpensive
When I’m traveling between Honolulu and Los Angeles, I like to hear the words “mahalo” (which means “thank you” in Hawaiian) and “aloha” (which is a Hawaiian greeting similar to “hello,” but with many other meanings). That is one of the reasons why I...
Pros: Inexpensive for Mainland flights. Efficient service. Cons: I wish the people were as warm, friendly, and "Hawaiian" as the video.
I believe in diversity and supporting local business. Thus, I was delighted to find that Hawaiian and Aloha Airlines were the two cheapest carriers for a recent trip to San Francisco. Remembering the horrid 2005 trip to Vancouver aboard Aloha Airlines, I ...
Pros: Clean Cabins, leather seats, punctual flights around paradise. Cons: Standard USA airline service product!
Issuing My ticket through the Hawaiian airlines call centre, from Libya ,North Africa! The friendly Hawaiian reservations representative was confused about my contact address. Libya, which state is that sir? I told her I was far ...
Pros: Nice Planes, Nice Service, Nice Atmosphere, Inter-Island Schedule, Their people Cons: Older 717's, Baggage
Living in Arizona it is nice to have the ability to fly direct to the Hawaiian Islands. It even for better when Hawaiian Airlines started flying its 767-300ER's to and from Phoenix. This allows people in Arizona more flexibility than flying US ...
Pros: Attractive and convenient website, competitive pricing, on-time Cons: Very cold airplane, too much in-flight entertainment intrusion
On the positive side, the routes between the mainland to Honolulu all seem to be 767s, which have plenty of overhead storage space and are generally newer than many other planes Ive spent quality time with. The flight attendants were generally ...
I booked a flight from Las Vegas to Kauai, Hawaii via Los Angeles on Hawaiian Airlines.
I arrived at the airport 30 minutes prior to departure and was told I wouldn't make the plane since to get to the aircraft, one has to walk etc. As this...
Pros: On time, clean plane, friendly staff, very Hawaiian oriented plane and staff. Cons: Late with baggage, ran out of food, some turbulence.
...Do what the Hawaiians do! And this is exactly what Hawaiian Airlines did. My family and I [all five of us] flew from Phoenix to Kauai over a week in October. We left on a Friday morning, which is the day we were told by others who flew Hawaiian was ...
Pros: Fast friendly service Cons: Expensive coach tickets
According to some of my friends who know more than I about Hawaiian language, Aloha means welcome. That is just how we were made to feel during all of our dealings with Hawaiian Airlines. We used them to hop to Kona and back last week. They are a partner...
Pros: Better because they are Number Two? Cons: Can't think of any
Hawaiian Airlines is considered the Number Two inter-island air carrier in Hawaii. I suspect this is the result of a lot of marketing hype on behalf of their one and only competitor. But as that old advertising slogan goes, perhaps because they are...
Pros: Nice 1st Class, good food and service Cons: Only fly to/from Hawaii
Hawaiian Airlines has the best domestic first class service I've experienced. Northwest, Delta, TWA, even Alaska just can't compare. What's unique about their service is that you really feel like your vacation is beginning the moment you step on the...
