Pros: Not much I can think of. Cons: Lousy horrendous anti-customer attitude of airline management and staff.
Unfortunately, after a hiatus of a few years caused by moving away from a Northwest hub, I had to fly Northwest again. The legs were PDX-MSP-DTW with the return leg DTW-PDX. I figured with the major legacy airlines trying to stay afloat financially, ...

Pros: Efficient service, low prices, only choice in certain areas. Cons: Service, seats on some aircraft.
Flying out of Laurel-Hattiesburg, MS there is only one commercial carrier and in this case it is obviously NorthWest. They fly 2 flights a day going to Memphis to connect to other cities and airports. However, unless you book your ticket about a month ...

Pros: Surprisingly, great food, wonderful attendants and punctuality. Cons: Most planes' interiors are a bit frayed around the edges.
After all the nightmare tales of surely ticket agents and flight attendants, sparse and/or inedible food and antique planes ready for the museum, I was ready for the worse. But all I found was the best.
I was able to earn frequent-flyer miles...

Pros: Departed and arrived ontim, clean airplanes, nice and professional employees Cons: Older aircraft
I was REALLY impressed by Northwest Airlines on a recent trip. I flew from Chicago (ORD) to Minneapolis (MSP) then connected to Seattle (SEA).
The checkin at Chicago was pretty hectic. The lines were long, but I found the agent very friendly...

Pros: good selection of flight times, well-staffed check-in counter, flights pulled out of the gate on-time Cons: no entertainment on cross-country flights (even when the planes are equipped), cramped seating, customer service
The first half of my recent round-trip from Phoenix to Montreal started off uneventfully enough. My departure date was December 23, which was right in the middle of the Christmas travel rush. There was a long line at the check-in counter, but it was...

Pros: None Cons: Customer service is non-existent. Agents misrepresent ticket vouchers.
On March 20, my two children and I agreed to get off an overbooked flight in Traverse City, MI. The agent and his supervisor were very aggressive about encouraging us to take a different flight because the plane was overbooked by three passengers and ...

Pros: A Long time at Logan = First class seats to Alaska. Cons: A very Long time at Logan.
To make a long story short, one very groggy couple got up at 6:00 a.m. to arrive at Boston's Logan Airport in time for their 11:00 a.m. flight out to Alaska. They had a 2 hour drive from New Haven, and checked in at around 9:00 a.m. Everything was going...

Pros: reasonable price for flights, excellent service by all Cons: none
I am not a frequent flyer and in fact had not flown for over 10 years till this past year. Since I was so out of touch w/ the norms and etiquette of flying in the 90's much less the new millenium...I figured alot had changed. But ya know....flying is...

Pros: Dirt Cheap Cons: No Service
For my birthday, my wife flew me to Bangkok, Thailand. The package included air via Northwest. Other than the fact I earned OnePass miles, there is not much good I can say about Northwest.
Our flights were on old aircraft that were not well...

Pros: Got me to and from China for a school trip in one piece. Cons: Being verbally and physically attacked by flight attendants demanding the return of their shoes.
Fellow travelers:
Please, if you ever have to fly to Asia, look into a carrier other than Northwest.
My story begins in March of 2001. I was attending a high school trip to China which I had been anticipating for a year and a half,...

Pros: Reliable, Very Helpful Service Reps Cons: Their hub airport, Minneapolis, is huge & easy to get lost in.
I realize Northwest has had publicity problems recently due to that crazy pilot leaving his passengers waiting while he went to get food. But I'm sure we've all heard of/known people who lost it a bit in many different professions. I myself have never...

Pros: it gets you there, ok seats Cons: bad service, bad food, old planes
Note: this review is about Northwest's International World Business class, not their economy class.
I recently flew on Northwest Airlines' World Business Class from New York to Tokyo. Overall the experience was dissapointing, and I will not...

Pros: the plane didn't crash Cons: rude gate agents, oversold flights, late flight
Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, there was an airline called Northwest Orient. This was a great airline, with proud and professional crews and agents.
Fast forward to today: Northwest Orient, through a series of mergers and...
