Pros: the food, the food, and the food Cons: excursions
We took the Celebrity Mercury in October 1998 on a Western Caribbean itinerary (Key West, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, and Grand Cayman). With airfare it was around $1100 per person.
This was our first cruise and it exceeded our expectations!...
Pros: The food and service was excellent Cons: It was a bit pricy
During the 1999 Spring Break, I went on the Celebrity Mercury cruise ship. We were scheduled for two days at sea, and to stop at the Grand Caymans, Calica, Cozumel, and Key West. We departed From Ft. Lauderdale.
Pros: Wonderful, relaxing, pampered vacation. Highly recommended. Cons: It costs money to drink soda.
My husband and I took our first cruise on the Celebrity Mercury. My parents are frequent cruisers and were recommending a cruise vacation to us for a while now. My husband and I were a little skeptical. We had the usual apprehensions about cruising...
I went on the M/V Mercury for a southbound Alaskan cruise from Seward to Vancouver in July of 2000. This was the first time that I've been on a cruise along with six other family members. To sum it up, it was great.
Pros: Outstanding food and service, friendly staff, attention to detail! Cons: Our stomachs were not big enough, it was too short!
Overview
This was my third voyage on a Celebrity ship (I had been on the Meridian and Horizon about 10 years ago), but my husband's first (he had only been on Carnival ships before). I had high expectations, as my two previous cruises with...
Pros: Great shower. Plenty of deck room. The comfort of the Celebrity theater. Elevators take no more than 30 seconds to arrive. No blaring announcements. No theme nights. No waiters dancing with food on their heads. Cons: The pools and hot tubs close every night at 7:00pm. Shipboard shops are boring. There was only one half hour each day in which NO FOOD was served anywhere!
The Mercury is beautiful, but not glitzy and overstated. It does not feel like you are on a megaship, and rarely did we experience crowds. The staff and crew were warm, cordial and very helpful throughout the cruise. Our stateroom was very well...
Pros: Marvelous service, beautiful ship, mostly good food Cons: As usual -- we had to go home.
My wife and I took the Celebrity Mercury round trip from San Francisco on May 17, 2004. We cruise fairly often and had previously taken two cruises on Celebrity (Millinneum and Constellation), but this was our first time on a Century-class ship. We had ...
Pros: overall amenities, excursions, concierge class stateroom, stateroom attendant, and service at dinner. Cons: pictures are ridiculously expensive, service at open seatings and buffets is less attentive
We just returned from our honeymoon to Alaska on the Celebrity Mercury. It was in a word - fabulous! Our stateroom was "Concierge Class" and included a veranda. The "Concierge Class" status let us skip the entire line for embarkation. Our room ...
Pros: Great Entertainment, Great Shows, Great Food, Great Disco, Great Staff Cons: None
all i can say about the mercury is that its simply the best. i've been on 8 cruises and this last one on mercury was by far the best. there were so many types of people on board and so many different age groups and they were all satisfied all the...
Pros: Everything was great. Cons: Bring your own hairdryer; their's is weak. that's it.
My family of 5 just returned from the Anchorage to Vancouver leg (7 nights) from the July 27 cruise date. Previous comments I had read were problems with embark. and disemb; so I was ready for the worst. Was pleasantly surprised that with how many...
Pros: Food, service, atmosphere, space Cons: rough feeling to pilled bedspreads; overpriced excursions
We've cruised twice on the Mercury in April 1999 and April 2000. My wife and I cruised the first time, and were joined by our daughter and son-in-law the second time. Our second cruise was a two week repositioning cruise via the Panama Canal from Ft....
Pros: Great personalized service, fantastic food, good shows, good excursions, great value for money! Cons: Ports cut short by cruiseline, drinks expensive!
Our trip started in Kentucky and we flew into Seattle. We (my husband and I) arrived in Seattle around 11AM local and took a cab to the pier. Celebrity's pier 66 is wonderfully located right in the downtown area. The cab fare with tip was $35. ...
The Mercury, by the Celebrity is one of the more casual ships in the carribean. It also has its finer points, though. I was on it as a teen and had a very enthralling time. I made many friends, a handfull of whom I'm still in contact with today. This...
From the moment you first come in contact with the staff of a Celebrity cruise ship, you know you're going to have a fabulous time.
My daughter and I went on a cruise to Alaska a year ago, and I can honestly say I've never experienced such a...
