We took our second Disney cruise in January 2000. We had previously cruised on the Disney Magic in January or 1999 had a great time. My main reason for going back was Castaway Cay, Disney's private island. It was amazing back in 1999, like being in...

Disney Wonder Review from a former Employee

Pros: Big cabins, rotating dining rooms, entertainment in adult only areas, the children's program, seamless transfer from Disney resorts to ship, Castaway Cay
Cons: The food, drink prices, too many kids, expensive, Nassau
I worked on both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder for over a year. I was an entertainer, the band leader of the Wavebands band in the adult only section. I can give you an honest assessment of what goes on. First the food. The dining experience is...

Cons: nassau, 3-day trip too short
I went on the Disney Wonder as an extension to 4 days at Disney World. The ship was beautiful, the staff was incredibly friendly, the food was good, and the activities were plentiful. The only two things that weren't so good was the first destination to...

Pros: Perfect family vacation. There was something for all ages!
Cons: No joined cabins for larger families.
I recently took 7 children on a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas. I can not tell you how wonderful it was! At first I was terrified of traveling with so many children, but the staff on ship made it a breeze. As parents, we were issued a pager so that we ...

First-class treatment

by gdonna612 , Sep 05 '00
Pros: Outgoing, friendly staff; excellent food; lots of activities.
Cons: I contimplated this and could not come up with anything that was wrong with this trip.
In April, my family and I cruised to the Bahamas on this ship. The treatment was first class all the way. The cabins were beautiful, and champagne was chilling upon our arrival. The cabin steward introduced himself and said to call on him at any time...

Disney Wonder Cruise - Save your money
by newt123 ,Nov 25 '06
Pros: Service, evening musical shows
Cons: loud daytime entertainment, crowded pools, food mediocre, etc.
After a much anticipated wait of nearly a year, my family (2 adults, 2 children, aged 3 and 6) set sail for a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas. Unfortunately, it fell very short of my expectations. Let me first state that the service and evening entertainment was spectacular. However, for the price of the cruise you have to endure long lines, VERY crowded, small pools where kids are bumping into each other constantly (and I went during low season), parents constantly yelling at their kids, limited lounge chairs available by the pools most times, and the pool entertainment was far too loud.

As a huge Disney fan, I travel to Florida every year to do the parks, but was so disappointed on this particular Disney excursion.

Good for all ages
by sueandall ,Oct 23 '07
Pros: everything
Cons: booking next cruise aboard IS NOT necessarily cheaper as they advertise
I just traveled with an 81-yr old mother in a wheelchair and a 10 yr-old son. We ALL had a great time. My son went to the oceaneer's lab as he pleased while mom and I enjoyed movies at their movie theater or just chilled out by the pools.
Even with a wheelchair in tow we never felt unable to do anything or go anywhere.
There are sufficient elevators all over and ramps where necessary.
Our room, category 11, was larger than any hotel room we've stayed at. Even the bathroom accommodated the wheelchair without problems.
We just traveled 3 nights, will soon book a 4-nighter.

no pixie dust here
by peejaypee ,Jun 18 '06
Pros: kid's activities were great
Cons: Food service was lacking the disney crispness, no pixie dust here
I was totally disappointed in the lack of disneyesque service. Cruise and activities were great but the dining services were inconsistant at best. Palo's was terific and right up to par dinner service overall was acceptable but not by disney standards. Breakfast in parrot cay was infuriating we got the typical low end cruise couldn't care less attitude. Servers openly commented about passengers, I asked for a spoon got the "not my job" blank stare. I could have saved a couple of thousand dollars for the down right crappy service that was prevalent throughout. On the last day I watched a white coated maitre'd pull a family from line at Tritons because they missed their 7 am seating, they were second in a line of about thirty people waiting for the eight o'clock seating and they were made to leave and told to have the buffet on the ninth deck if they wanted to eat. they had kid's and luggage but no matter off they were sent. I felt bad for them but then mr white coat nabbed us too. Old walt would be rolling in his grave.
