Holland America is in a class of its own. by eddodd ,Dec 22 '05
Pros: ship staff, old world charm, food service. Cons: food quality was just OK outside the main dining room.
Sailing on the Amsterdam is an experience that will stay with you for many years. The ship has the old world feel with updates that make common areas such as the lounge and casino fit into modern times. However the staff is the real jewel. Their attention to the details, like remembering your name when you enter the lounge or dining room, make the experience most enjoyable. No wonder that many of the passengers were one their 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 20th sailing.
