Pros: Very friendly staff and great service Cons: boat smaller than I thought it would be; Rooms not very good; lousy entertainment
November 11 - November 15, I went on a 5 day, 4 night cruise on the Regal Empress. It left from Port Manatee, FL and went to Cozumel, Mexico. I had never been to Mexico nor on a cruise before, so I was pretty excited about going. My mom and ...

Pros: Crew very helpful, Embarkation/disembarkation, cabin steward was excellent Cons: Cabins are small, limited shore excursions, old ship
7/8/2006 to 7/10/2006 This was our second cruise, our first was a 7-day western caribbean on Holland America's Maasdam, and we somewhat researched the ship before booking. Overall it's not a bad little getaway for the money. We paid $279.00 per ...

Pros: Excellent crew and staff - quaint and calm ship - good food Cons: Pathetic entertainment offerings - ineffective security staff
A veteran of more than 15 cruises in my day; my 81-year-old mother (wheelchair-bound) and I chose the Empress for our Christmas Cruise 2001. The price was very attractive, some friends had sailed with Regal and recommended the ship, and the sailing from...

Pros: 1)Price 2)Offers cruises that other lines do not 3)Nostalgic Cons: 1)Yellow water in cabins 2)No water pressure in shower 3)Poor menu choices for room service
Greetings!
I just got back from Regal Empress's Fantasy Fest Cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Key West that sailed 10/24 - 10/29. I had a great time!
The ship is nothing spectacular. I did not expect it to be. The ship is old and it...

Pros: Exceptional service. Good food. Good value. Cons: Ugly cabins. Luggage search.
My husband Bob & I decided since it was our 30th wedding anniversary to do something a little different. I booked a 1-night cruise to nowhere out of NY on the Regal Empress. I have been on 11 cruises, never on Regal. I love cruising so much that even a...

Pros: Little cost, but a lot of perks Cons: Small bathrooms, too cold to swim in September
My husband and I wanted to take a cruise for our honeymoon, but we didn't want to spend a lot of money. Then we saw an add for Regal Cruise Lines at our travel agency. So we booked our honeymoon.
We absolutely loved our cruise experience and...

Pros: Great service, food and accommodations Cons: Not good for handicapped or guests who had difficulties walking. The elevators were a constant source of complaint. We stayed away from them. Do not need so many pictures taken by cruise line.
Traveled August 20 through Aug 25, 2000 on a New England/Canada cruise on the Regal Empress. Departed from New York and visited the cities of Newport RI, St John New Brunswick Canada, Portland MN and Martha's Vineyard MA.
I was accompanied by...

Pros: Wood paneling, Art Deco and old world charm. Cons: None unless you don't like the charm and history of an older ship.
My husband and I recently boarded the Regal Empress for a two night Sunsrpree cruise to nowhere out of Port Manatee in Palmetto, Florida. I had done a lot of research on the Empress and was very excited to get on board and experience her fifty year...

Pros: The waiter, Dennis and oour cabin boy. Cons: alcohol sales pushed at you. too many fatties
This was the first cruise for my wifa and I. We are in our late twentys and were given this cruise as part of a vacation deal in south Florida to listen to a pitch selling timeshares. We felt a little cheap since we are both lawyers, but are never ones ...

Pros: Tons of good food. Great staff. Lots to do! Cons: Weight gain from all the food!
Some of the bad reviews I've read about this cruise scared the hell out of me. But for only $189 per, my wife and I figured, what the heck. We were already in Florida visiting her relatives, and the this seemed like a good opportunity to get away and be ...

Pros: Good for someone who wants a real nostalgic kind of experience . Cons: Small outdated ship in need of repair. All about the money for extras.
I wish I would have read more online reviews about this before I went on this 3day/2night cruise so my expectations would have been much lower and I would have been better informed. I took this cruise as part of a Ramada time share sales package. That is ...

Pros: Staff is very friendly and helpful Cons: Smaller ship so you feel the rocking - take Dramamine!
We were looking for an inexpensive getaway for the two of us while visiting family in FL. This fit in our budget quite well, so we decided to jump on it. We weren't overly disappointed but weren't thrilled enough to sail with them again. The food ...

Pros: Very nice crew, quiet ship Cons: Very old ship, small beat up cabins, EXPENSIVE (for the value).
I received this reservation (for a cruise to Nassau, Bahamas) as a "FREE" gift for another vacation I bought to the caribbean. The **FREE** vacation does not include $279 (port fees) for every 2 persons and I was traveling with my wife and 2 kids. I ...

Pros: great service, great food, really clean ship and room, the Bahamas was lots of fun Cons: the cruise only gave you one day in the Bahamas and it seemed too short
My wife and two kids took the cruise on the Regal Empress in May because of a package we got from Ramada Plaza Resorts. We really had a great time! When we first bought the package we were mostly interested in cruising to the Bahamas but were not sure ...
