Pros: Extremely friendly people, a great experience Cons: Crowded, not too clean, aggressive shopkeepers
A definite must-visit if you are ever in Cairo!
While I could wax poetic at great length about my recent visit to Egypt, I simply must tell about my visit to the Khan el-Khalili Bazzar.
I can't say that Cairo is particularly...

Pros: I love the diving here. Cons: Tough to avoid the usual tourist fare, plus it's hard to get to from Taba or Aqaba
I happen to really like Dahab, but perhaps that is because I go there to get away from Israel for the weekends. It isn't an easy place to get to from the border crossing, but it is well worth it once you're there. It is much like the rest of Egypt, with...

Pros: Awesome treasures and sights, friendly people Cons: Heat, heat, heat
I was fortunate enough to go to Egypt on vacation back in 1996. My husband had been almost obsessed with the idea since reading several books on the subject of Egyptology and so we decided to go for it.
We arrived late at night at Cairo...

Pros: everything!!!! A short flight from Cairo!!! Cons: none!!!!
This opinion is about a quaint little city in the southern Sinai Desert called Sharm El-Sheikh. I have been in many cities in Egypt, but none of them compare to "Sharm" as the locals call it! Sharm El-Sheikh is in at the far most southern tip...

Pros: Varied and exotic Cons: Must be careful where purchasing
Like any crossroads culture, Egyptian cuisine has picked and chosen those ingredients and food that grow best as well as best meet the flavor and nutritional needs of their people. Bridging Africa and Asia as it does, Egypt has a lot from which to...

Pros: Sun/Golf/Beach plus pharaonic site seeing. Cons: streets are not lit properly, very dim at night.
Twenty one Kilometers north of Hurgada on the Egyptian Red Sea coast, I found a small paradise. A complete self sufficient resort or shall I see town with the following :
- A small airport (air strip rather), weekly flights from Cairo in addition to...

Pros: Tons of history, lots of interesting sites Cons: Cairo is smoggy
Went to Egypt for vacation in March 2000 and can highly recommend going with Contiki Tours if you are age 18-34. The itinerary is planned around active younger people who want to meet others in the same age group.
We spent 3 days in Cairo and...

Pros: Friendly, safe, very cheap Cons: For some women it might be difficult getting used to all the attention
My friend and I are from South Africa and we decided to visit Egypt after Dubai. From the moment we stepped onto the airport the advances from the men started. As we came from Dubai it was not strange to us, but some women might get offended. In all...

Pros: Cairo is a very friendly and fascinating city. Cons: The air quality in central Cairo is dismal, thank God for air conditioning.
Cairo is the capital city of Egypt. It is an ancient city with buildings and bazars dating back to the ninth century. But Cairo is also a modern city which is dissected by the River Nile. I have visited Cairo twice. Each time we have stayed at the ...

Pros: A relatively cheap resort with good level of service Cons: Few entertainment options.
- Where are you going this time?
- I've been thinking of Hurgada...
- Lord! Where's that?
(an excerpt of an overheard conversation).
I have been to Hurgada, too. And even three times. The resort is becoming more and more...

Pros: Sea and the Market area Cons: There is still many sites that need to be developed
There are many resorts along Egypt’s Red Sea coast. Water sports are among the popular organized sea activities in the region. There is beautiful Marine life and underwater expeditions to look forward to, when visiting one of these resorts.

Pros: beautiful, awe striking temples and monuments Cons: some of the sellers will try to extort you.
Egypt. A civilization, which existed thousands and thousands of years ago, has left a tremendous impact on the world in the fields of architecture, medicine and arts, some which can still be seen standing to this day. The pyramids of Giza, the sphinx,...

Pros: So many sites! Cons: Too much to just pack in!
I just got back from Egypt! It's was definitely something everyone should go see. Obviously the Pyramids at Giza were totally amazing to see. We saw the Egyptian Museum which had King Tut's Mask and many other interesting things from his tomb. We...
