Pros: Beautiful city. I learned a lot about Moroccan textiles and handicraft. Cons: not enough opportunity to see the place. tour guide was mainly a shopping guide
I had been in Gibraltar and wanted to make a side trip to Morocco. My ideal trip would have been to start in Tangier and then head to Marrakesh and Casablanca before returning. I've done "zoom" tours before through travel agencies (zoom tour = 16...
Pros: Not as threatening as some publications led us to believe. Cons: While it isn't threatening, Morocco is not the best place to go for a relaxing vacation.
We finally arrived at Tangier, backpacks in tow and well informed about the caveats of travel in Morocco. Our ferry from Spain had been delayed, and we would arrive in Morocco over 3 hours after the scheduled time. Up to this point neither of us had...
Pros: Great for cheap shopping, good fun, an introduction to Africa
Cons: Traders can "hassle", lots of begging
There's only one thing harder to control than my itchy feet and that's my unrelenting curiosity. It never fails to get the better of me. I try to say no but panic starts to set in - what might I miss, will the chance ever arise again, what will happen if ...
Pros: Cheap housing, food, buys - with interesting cultural sights Cons: Ubiquitous "guides"
I spent a month in Morocco last year, crossing into Tangier from Spain via ferry. It's true you get mobbed by wannabe "guides" almost everywhere in Morocco and especially in Tangier. It helps to remember the severe unemployment problem there...
Pros: stunning culture, people and history Cons: Let the con men get to you and you won't have fun!
I recently traveled to Morocco during the early summer via the Spanish port of Tariffa. I traveled through Tangier, took a train to Fez and spent a few weeks there then returned by the same train and ferry back to Spain. Here is my tale and a few...
Pros: Enables budget travelers to access Morocco by ferry Cons: More expensive Moroccan city, something of a tourist trap
Two of my friends and I (all age 23) went to Morocco about a year ago. To make the trip cheaper, we flew into Malaga, Spain and took a bus to a port near Gibraltar which allowed us to catch a hydrofoil to Tangier, Morocco.
Tangier, as a...
Pros: food, petit and grand soccos, friendly people Cons: very steep streets in some areas, dangerous, evil people
My memory of specific places, restaurants, sites in tangier is fairly limited, so I am going to give some brief information and then relate two stories that will give you a good idea of the best and worst it has to offer. The stories are a little long,...
Pros: Abdelhamid idrissi Kaitouni is more than a tour guide. He is Very Goood. Cons: not enough time to see Everything. But The guide was Excellent.
now that we are back,we want to thank Abdelhamid Idrissi for his wonderful tour. It really was one of the highlights of our trip.(We could have really used him at the KASBAH & Medina of Tangier.we met with Abdelhamid Idrissi, an official guide of Tangier ...
Tangier is the gateway to North Africa from Spain and presents quite a contrast to its European 'neighbor', you know that you've left Europe when you hit Tangier!
When approaching by sea Tangier has a very mystical look, the buildings seem to...
Pros: regular boats out Cons: first ya gotta get TO the boats!
klaws shoulda been warned. i'll bet fez is still ok,
or sale near the capital, but i lost a good pocket
knife to thugs who seem to freely walk the streets of
tangier.
i'd be surprized if ANYONE would want to go back there.
go east up into the rif mountains. the valleys are terraced.
on terrace walls are blackberries. what grows on the terraces
themselves will soon be hashish for the european market. you
may meet the owner of that yacht you saw down on the...
Review Dunes Line Morocco " http://www.dunesline.com" by katyerts ,Sep 13 '09
Pros: Everythnig Cons: N/A
We ( sister, mother and I ) havetraveled with Dunes Line '' http://www.dunesline.com " to Morocco in August 2009. We booked our custom made holiday and it was really the best we'ver been on. We were very satisfied with the excellent offered service, we enjoyed the colors of Morocco, the breakthtaking scenery of the Atlas mountains and the trip to the desert was a fantastic one, the night in the Nomad tent was great fun even with the sandstorm outside. The people were very friendly and charming everywhere and the food was outstanding ( and inexpensive). Our driver/guide was great, very professional and spoke great English he really made our trip extra rich! I cannot speak highly enough of everyone involoved in making our holiday so memorable, we would use them again in a heartbeat!
