Pros: Great history, cool looking old buildings, great view of downtown Shanghai Cons: Not a whole lot of exciting things to do, the Huangpu River is pretty nasty
My wife and I have been living in China for the past 11 months and we had the opportunity to spend this last New Years in Shanghai with a couple of our friends. We were able to spend about four days in the city and one of these we spent exploring...

Pros: Old European architecture and ultramodern Chinese. Neat contrast! Cons: Some areas run down and there's not a whole lot of old word China here.

Pros: Great View Cons: Crowded
The Bund… What kind of name is that anyways? I was confused as to where the heck is this place until I saw the picture. And then it hit me on the head like, hey, I lived around there! FYI, in Chinese the Bund is called "Wai Tan", meaning...

Pros: Great place to view city and water Cons: One of the places street vendors can get annoying
The Bund was originally a tow path to pull barges of rice. Wàit`an is the Chinese name for the area. The Bund is the Anglo-Indian name for the embankments built up to discourage flooding of the area. It is comes from the word band, which means ...
