Pros: A relatively untouched place, with a unique culture and little outside influence (so far) Cons: Untouched by many things we take for granted, such as diverse food and infrastructure.
When I told my friends I was going to Mongolia they would ask me "why would you want to go there?" and I would say "exactly". Some got it, some didn't. I spent four days there as part of a trip on the Trans-Siberian railway from Beijing to Moscow....
