Cons: Limited English among staff  (although their willingness to help made up for this )

Cons: food is pretty bad, distances are daunting

Summary: I lived in Mongolia for six months and thirteen days 1995-1996, so my perspective is different than someone who visited briefly. From what I have heard, it is much easier to find and purchase consumer goods now too - although after the winter they have ... read more

Pros: know what they're doing, use local services
    Cons: none

Summary: Mongolia does not have a tourist infrastructure. It doesn't even have a phone, water or road infrastructure to speak of, and that's one of the reasons to visit the place. But it means that it's one of the few places in the world where the most ... read more
