Pros: Still an impressive structure, new natural bridge nearby, nice indoor facilities Cons: Okay, technically the bridge lies in a crumbled heap of ruins
Youve gotta feel a little bad for Aruba. I can almost hear the collective sigh of overworked island PR agents on September 9, 2005, when the Natural Bridge collapsed into the ocean. This rock bridge formed by the lapping of ocean waves ...
Ah! Ruba. That should be the name of this wonderful Caribbean island that lies just North of Venezuela. One of the major attractions of the island is a lovely spot called the Natural Bridge. This is a huge bridge that spans two land masses on the...
Pros: beautiful scene, impressive natural phenomenon Cons: some tourists must not know what a trash can is.
All along Aruba's windward side the waves are strong and impressive. Much of this stretch of coastline consists of rocky cliffs. Along the edge of Arikok National Park, you will find some spectacular views of the waves crashing into the cliffs,...
Pros: Beautiful and powerful Cons: Hot and bumpy to get there!
Natural Bridge is an incredible feat of Mother Nature. A large, arching rock is literally carved out by centuries of crashing waves. There are no paved roads or tour guides or traffic lights. Just a winding, rutted, trail across the desert leading you...
Honestly I've been to Aruba all of one time. When I was fifteen my family went there on vacation and ever since I can't wait to go back. I decided that summer that Aruba was going to be the site of my honeymoon. It's a breathtakingly beautiful...
Pros: Breathtaking Beauty Cons: Costs a lot to get there.
If you've read my Aruba review you know my thoughts as a whole for an Aruba vacation. The Natural Bridge is just one of many experiences to encounter there.
The site itself is breathtaking and simply walking across the bridge is an...
Pros: Pretty scenery, being able to say you've "been there" Cons: It really isn't worth losing a day at the beach to go see it.
Aruba is probably my favorite place in the world! It is such a perfect, perfect island; gorgeous temperature, wonderful people, and just a great vacation.
What Aruba doesn't have is much in the tourist-attraction market. It's a simple island...
Pros: Fun offroad drive to get there Cons: wasnt that nice, tried to make me pay to use a bathroom, tourist trap
I don't understand why there is such a fuss made about the natural bridge in aruba. While I was vacationing there with my family we heard wonderful things about it and decided to check it out.
First of all, if you don't have an SUV or...
Pros: Beautiful Cons: Busy, hard to get great pics, buy a postcard to get a pic without people!
Review Topic: Sights & Attractions
We visited the Natural Bridge in September of 2000. It was a very beautiful site! It is one of those sites that looks just like all the pictures you see of it! So if viewing pictures is...
Aruba's Natural Bridge.. A Must see!!! by kezbeth ,Jan 06 '04
Pros: Great Kodak moment, clean area, fun to find Cons: no road signs to follow, rough rocky roads
dusty
A great wonder that is worth the adventure to locate. The roads to the bridge are poorly marked and it is easy to get lost or turned around on the dusty, rural roads. But don't worry because there are houses located out there and the locals are happy to help you find your way. The rough rocky roads are hard on a vehicle and it is pretty dusty. We saw two different jeep vehicles on the side of the road with flats, caused by the sharp rocks. We rented a van which could not make it up the roughest area so we walked the rest of the way and it was well worth the walk. It was one of our favorite parts of Aruba (besides the people who were fantastic). It is worth seeing but don't forget the camera. There is a gift shop there just in case you do..
Pros: Beauty, photogenic Cons: Collapsed...too bad
Unfortunately, the natural bridge collapsed in early September 2005 but even a visit today shows it's easy to see why it was such an attraction. The road in to the sight is a little difficult and slow going for a car but take it easy and you'll get there just fine. The old fort on the way out is another very interesting historical sight. The difference between the two coasts -- south and north -- is pretty stark. It's easy to see how, why and where the tourist hotels and popular beaches are. All in all, Aruba is a very pleasant, laid-back place to vacation. Good weather, good beaches, good times.
