Adventure (if you do it right)

by harley_pa , Feb 23 '07
Pros: Beautiful beaches, great food, great people
Cons: Windy, very expensive, some shady dealers
I stayed at the Bucuti Beach resort in 2004. The hotel had not opened it's more luxurious addition yet, so the rooms were only adequate. The pool left something to be desired, but the beach area completely made up for it. I've never been to a beach ...

Hot, desert-like landscape, but breezy and fun

by blankfromva , Oct 23 '05
Pros: Friendly people, interesting main town, constant warm weather with nice breezes
Cons: Not really tropical, more desert like.
We went to Aruba this summer for a week. The first thing we noticed was that we felt like we were still in the states. Very US in mood and style, despite this being a Dutch island. Everyone pretty much speaks English, but you do hear people speaking ...

Pros: Weather, Friendly People, South of the Hurricane belt
Cons: Expensive, Not child friendly
I like to travel and it came as a surprise that I was not wild about our trip to Aruba. It was ok, but not the great experience that others have raved about. My wife and I have gone on 7 cruises in the Caribbean and always wondered what it would be ...
