Pros: Hospitality galore! Very Friendly people. Beaches second to none. Cons: Food is a little different, but good.
First of all, I can guarantee that it IS true that Varadero has some of the best beaches in the world. Snow white sand, turquoise waters, and beautiful scenery.
I defy anyone who goes to Cuba and doesn't make friends with one or more of the...

Pros: The best vacation ever. The best summer ever. I am so happy. Cons: They don't like Americans. They let minors get drunk. The locals are rip-off con artists.
I loved Cuba. Americans need to squash the beef with Cuba right now and visit Cuba right now. My God, I feel ten years younger I think I might be getting a zit. But let me rewind to when my vacation started. I was to fly up to Toronto ...

Pros: Great food if you stay with the Paladares Cons: The Rapidos fast food establishments
A coworker recently asked me about Cuba as a possible vacation destination. Naturally I offered to give her any assistance in planning a trip there. She's a non smoker after all and my humidor could always use some additions.
I suggested a...

Pros: Music, people, Vinales, Trinidad, people who make so much of so little Cons: Food, roads, tourists with little adventure
“Cuba is Cuba.” That’s how Ray from Blackpool answered all our questions about Cuba. It was our second night in Havana and we were still a little shell-shocked by our first taste of Cuba to say the least. So when we had found a lifeline in Ray, a fellow...

Pros: Canada for beach resorts. Mexico for everything else. Cons: Wouldn't it be nice if you could book whatever you wanted from the US?
Cuba is not exactly an undiscovered hideaway as any Canadian can tell you, but it's still a place that's not overrun with tourism and delightfully innocent. Let me begin with the type of trips you can take and how to do them. The first (and most ...

Pros: Beautiful Weather, Great Beaches, Friendly People, Super All-Inclusive Resort, Beautiful Country, Vibrant Culture Cons: Poverty, Toilets, Beggars
My friend organized this trip as he went down there to get married. We paid $1200 CAN, but the price went down to around $800 a week or two before the trip. If there are just two of you, then you can probably get some good last minute deals. We booked ...

Pros: Lovely beaches, classic American Cars, mild temperatures, hardly any Americans Cons: Extreme poverty, Brits with prostitutes, sad starving dogs
Cuba. Where do you start? Well... I guess I should start with why a friend and I decided on Cuba. He had been reading up on inexpensive and exotic places to travel.... He invited me to go along after he had read on the Lonely Planet website about how...

Pros: Beach, Pool, Price, and Cuban hospitality. Cons: Food, occasional spotty service.
I traveled to Cuba in August 2002. Cuba in August you say? What about the heat? Although the temperature occasionally rose above 35C the heat was bearable thanks to the constant calm wind, drinks, beaches and pools that are common place throughout Cuba....

Pros: music, people, coffee, rum, political-economic system Cons: expense of trip, scarcity and poor quality of food
A trip to Cuba is not for everyone. If you're looking for an inexpensive tropical getaway, and especially if you're seeking good food, then pick a different island. However, I love Cuba, and so do many other visitors. The reasons: the music, the people,...

Pros: scenery, culture, socialismo, music, laughs, friendliness, rum Cons: jiniteros and rip-off attempts in Havana, sometimes difficult getting solid information
I have travelled to Cuba twice now, both in Nov-Dec, and am just about to embark on my third trip in three years. For independent travellers once you know the ropes everything is so much easier. For all other travellers, Cuba is likely a hit-or-miss...

Pros: A lot more modern than the one it replaced Cons: Not many amenities, far from the vacation destinations
The Airport is located in Holguin an industrial city 54 km from the resort destination of Guardalavaca. Like many other rural airports which service Cuban tourist regions, this was originally a military airstrip with limited services. A new terminal...

Pros: THE BAR IS BIGGER THAN THE TERMINAL Cons: THE BAR IS BIGGER THAN THE TERMINAL
Jaime Gonzales Aeroporte in Cienfuegos Cuba technically qualifies as an International Airport. At first glance though it does not appear to be one. A closer inspection quickly confirms this initial estimate.
Its facilities and size are...
