Pros: Laid back atmosphere, fantastic beach. Cons: Not enough time spent there.
"Last season there were no cruise ships here. This year one, and maybe next year we'll get two a week. That's it however, no more. We don't want them."
The bartender spoke with more than a bit of conviction as she handed me my beer. Looking...

Pros: Everything! Cons: No direct flight from US to Grand Turk
Sometimes, it takes a special trip, and special people to make me go out of my way to come online...I MUST let others know what I now know.
We arrived in Grand Turk taking a taxi to the Osprey Beach Hotel. Arriving just at sunset, a drink was...

Great Place to Relax on the Peaceful Little Caribbean Island of Grand Turk
by jej44 ,Feb 27 '07
Pros: Welcoming people, beautiful beaches, quaint town, very nice accommodations, wonderful snorkeling and diving. Cons: A bit difficult to get to, not lush.
If you haven't heard of the sleepy little island of Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos, look into it! I stayed at a cute place called Crabtree Apartments, right on the beach and had the most amazing vacation. The people on the island were so friendly, the beaches are beautiful, though I rarely left the beach that was right outside my door. I mean literally right outside, the beautiful sandy beach and turqouise sea was my back yard. The snorkeling there was great and the beach was so peaceful and quiet. It was like having the beach to myself. Once in a while I would see someone walk by. The island has charming antique homes along it's narrow wall lined streets and most of the restaurants are perched right on the water's edge. We would walk down to the restaurants at night under a blanket of stars. It was so romantic. I can't wait to go back.
