Pros: Painted Monasteries, Scenery, Quaint Villages, Inexpensive Prices Cons: Cold and Gray in Fall and Winter

Pros: Much to see, inexpensive, friendly people, great fruit and vegetables. Cons: Temperatures in mid -summer can be hot in the valleys.

Pros: Beautiful, open country in summertime. Cheap options for travel and accommodation. Cons: Cheap options are of low quality, and foreigners are made for fleecing.

Before heading to Sofia from Greece, I didn't hear much about Bulgaria from anybody because most people won't even bother going there. A well-traveled friend of mine recommended it, told me that he met locals there and had a great time so I figured I...
