Pros: they appreciate if you try to speak French
Cons: you may be ignored if you don't know French at all
I've been to France 4 or 5 times and had in general good experiences.
One thing that kind of disappointed me was an experience on the railway station (Gare Du East, I think) when my girl-friend at that time and I tried to purchase train tickets.

Pros: Super location, super price, and the staff treats you great!
Cons: Can be hard to get a room in summer months.

Pros: Ability to get around easily, friendly people who almost all spoke English

Pros: As beautiful as the travel guides say

Pros: romantic, beautiful, great view of the city

I was surprised when I looked at Paris and there were many places of interest to write about but no Sacre Coure. I personally believe that it is one of the best things to see in Paris.
