Pros: the food is great Cons: very expensive
Traveling around Europe and learning about other's cultures can be a great experience; as long as they don't know that you are a tourist. Paris was very beautiful, the history amazing, and the food was fit for a king, but for some strange reason the...

Pros: Everything is Fabulous Cons: a long plane ride
I am a travel critic for a local newspaper. So each holiday season I go to exotic destinations in search of the best places to travel. Last Christmas I went to Paris. It was great. I have been all over the world and believe that it is, in fact, the...

Pros: lots to do, see Cons: higher prices, no water fountains
I have been fortunate enough to visit Paris on two occasions. The first time was when I was an exchange student in France, and the second time was with my mother. Both times, I was not ready to leave the City of Light.
Paris is by far the most...

Pros: Great sites Cons: NONE
Paris as we all know it as the number one city for a couple or maybe just for a family to go and visit. Paris has been know as the City of Lights or the City of Love. Either way you put it both of them sound great. The Eiffel Tower is not the only...

Pros: Amazing cathedrals, great views, top shopping and dining. Cons: Crowded, transportation doesn't run late.
The city is beautiful. Whether you're seeing it from the top of the Eiffel tower, the Arc de Triomph, or from the Sacre Coeur de Montmartre. If you're looking for shopping I can't tell you were to go but I'm sure I know a few people who can. I avoided...

Pros: GREAT PLACE FOR TOURISTS Cons: NONE
The Eiffel Tower is the ultimate attraction in France and certainly it does not fail to amaze. On flying into the airport (Charles de Gaulle) I got a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower and at first I thought it was smaller than I had imagined.
Yet,...

Pros: Wonderous artwork and sites. Cons: Dirty, fast-paced city. The people aren't all that friendly.
I've heard of people complain about New York City. It's dirty, it's too fast paced, but Paris was so much worse. On the outside it's fairly clean, but go a little deeper than the well used Metro and you'll see dead pigeons sitting on sidewalks for...

Pros: Easy, affordable and comfortable Cons: Only for the brave
To all those travelers who have enough courage and guts I suggest renting a car in Paris. My wife got an offer which we could not refuse:66$ for 3 days from Budget. Even if it is more expensive it is still worth it.
First you must decide who is the...

Pros: everything Cons: the distance away from America
Coming back from Paris only a month ago, and have been going there ever since I was five, I can tell you that Paris is one of the best cities in the world. All of it's landmarks (the louve, arc de triomph, the eiffel tower, etc.) live up to their...

In October 1997 our family went to Paris to celebrate my Mother's 80th Birthday... we stayed at the Lutetia Hotel which is on the Left Bank and down the street from the Bon Marche...It was a great location. Central to everything... Bank of France is...

Pros: WONDERFUL WALKING CITY Cons: NOISY TRAFFIC
Paris, the City of Lights, is a must for the person who is learning to be an educated traveler. You know all of the highlights - the Eiffel Tower, Toulleries, the Champs Elysees, the Arch de Triumph, the Louvre, Notre-Dame, etc. And you must see all of...

Paris: An Energetic City
by personage77 ,Feb 25 '05
Pros: The food, museums, and shopping. Cons: None.
Paris has so many restaurants, museums, clothing stores, and night clubs. This made it difficult for me to decide what to do first when I arrived in Paris from London. Paris was a dream come true to me. I was always fascinated with Paris through art books, classes, and television programs. Experiencing the city yourself is better than just seeing it through other sources. People are friendly and helpful (so ignore rumors about every French person is rude). The French welcomes all types of people and cultures. This is a city that you must visit more than once in a lifetime! Visiting the Eiffel Tower was one of the most memorable moments of my life. You get a beautiful view of the Paris plus get a sense of romance in the air. The architecture of the buildings were spectacular especially Notre Dame Church with the gargoyles. I accomplished my goal of seeing the Mona Lisa in the Louvre. For the budget shoppers, go to Tati Tati for affordable fashions and French products. Nobody should ever pass up an opportunity to go to Paris!

Paris - next time I go; I go alone =)
by flabound2005 ,Jun 17 '05
Pros: The history and the culture. Cons: Lack of public restrooms
Why do I say that "Next time I go alone"? Because in order to enjoy everything that "I" want to see - like spending days on end in the Louvre - I will have to go by myself!
Believe what they say about the rain. It RAINS every single day in Paris. Take with you a SMALL umbrella and a poncho. The sun would come out and fool us into believing that it was going to stay nice. Fat Chance.
This was in the summer of 2004. (The year AFTER the heat wave; was I nervous? YES!)
My favorite spot was the RODIN MUSEUM. This is where you will find THE THINKER, the statue of THE KISS, THE GATES OF HELL etc. THis museum is tucked away on a little side street that you just wouldn't know was there. It is soooo quaint and interesting and so awesome. To SEE the THINKER up close like that was awe-inspiring. The grounds are lovely (Take a lunch). You can rent a hand-held audio thingy that you can listen to throughout your entire tour that tells you about every last thing you are looking at.
