Paris IS incredibly beautiful but you have to put up with locals.
by goblue1954 ,Nov 23 '05
Pros: It looks as you expect if you have never been there. Absolutely stunning. Cons: Food gone down hill. Crime. Taxi Drivers. Many people do dislike Americans intensely.
Paris is gorgeous in the public central spaces. It does not have the greenery and massive parks of London, but has a quality of light that is unsurpassed. Walking down the Champs Elysee on one of those late Spring nights where the twilight lasts forever is amazing. However, many Americans will find that the stereotypical rude Parisian can be true, especially when dealing with taxi drivers and other public facing types. But this is certainly not true of ALL Parisians, who can be quite pleasant. You could get great food just about everywhere around 25 years ago, but sadly, that is no longer the case. The average tourist menu in a bistro is stale and tired. Also, there is a high crime rate outside the center, make sure to be careful and watch your purse and wallet and pockets! Three-star Paris hotel rooms can be intolerably uncomfortable especially during the hot summer which should be avoided.

A Gorgeous City with Beautiful Culture
by qtjen19 ,Jan 04 '05
Pros: Beautiful sites, lots of history, great great food Cons: Hotel rooms tend to be small
Paris! I mean, what else needs to be said? It is probably one of the most prestigious and famous cities in the world, and it definitely deserves every bit of praise that it receives. The city is glamourous and perfect for any kind of tourist. All of its sites are easily accessible and the food, the shows, the cafes, the churches are all wonderful! It is definitely a must-see and every person should get the chance to see the city once in their lives, if not more!

My First Time in Paris!
by christina_98 ,Oct 13 '08
Pros: The food, the architecture, the language... Cons: I would stay a little closer to the center of Paris for my next trip.
I haven't even been home for two weeks, and I am already anxious to go back to Paris!!!! I absolutely LOVED it! My friend and I went to the top of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, went to Montmartre to see Sacre Coeur, had a champagne tour in Epernay and Reims, a tour of the Louvre, and a tour of Versaille. We decided to book through http://www.gate1travel.com, and because this was our first trip to Paris, we thought that it would be a good idea to have a more scheduled trip, so we booked all the tours that were available. All of Gate 1's tour guides were very personable and interesting in the information that they shared. I will definitely book through them again!
