Pros: Fun bars, good food, loads of stuff to do Cons: Modern architecture, seedy like all big cities in places
Summary: I arrived at Hamburg on a ferry from Harwich called the S.S. Sea Chunder or something. The boat run by DFDS was comfortable enough on the top deck, unfortunately we were visiting Hamburg on a Rugby tour and as students we were deep in the bilge's (cost ar ... read more

Pros: A very cultural, modern city with great places to see Cons: cannot think of anything
Summary: Hamburg, contrary to all beliefs and stereotypes about Germany and Germans is great. Very elegant, colourful and thoroughly modern. There are musicals, shows, dance exhibitions from all over the world, restaurants and bars and so much more there, it is a ... read more

Pros: A wide range on offer at very affordable prices Cons: The smoking
Summary: Eating out is very popular in Germany. When you see the prices it is easy to understand why. Alcohol (wine, beer etc.) is also a lot cheaper than in Britain, so you will find that drinks don't bump the price up too much. The only major downside to most ... read more

Pros: architecture, green areas, culture Cons: weather
Summary: Hamburg is an amazing city. Too bad about the weather, though.
I stayed in Hamburg for eight weeks in the summer of 1998. For the first six weeks, there were two (count 'em!) rainless days. Although it has been compared to San Francisco (as ... read more

Pros: Nice day out to see an unusual ceremony and a quaint town Cons: Easy to get confused; public transport does not drop you exactly where the attractions are; considerable walking is involved
Summary: Hamburg is a port city. We all know that (or at least you will after reading the opinions on epinions). The boats come into Hamburg from the North Sea and continue down the Elbe towards Hamburg.
When they pass by the small town of Wedel the ... read more

Pros: Enthusiastic cast; you will enjoy this even if you are not a fan of rock 'n' roll Cons: Theater can be hot on a hot day
Summary: The show "Buddy" is playing in Hamburg. It is a major tourist attraction. For the uninitiated, it is about rock 'n' roll star Buddy Holly. He started out as a nobody in Texas, began to succeed at last and then died in an airplane crash at ... read more

Pros: Fun Cons: None
Summary: Hamburg is a lovely city with a vibrant sea port atmosphere and heritage reminiscent in some ways of San Francisco. Like many port towns, it's an international city with large immigrant populations, which makes it a bit more familiar to urban North ... read more

Pros: Beautiful, vibrant and liberal Cons: the weather is not very reliable
Summary: Hamburg is unfortunately not as famous as cities like Frankfurt, Munich, or Berlin. But in my opinion as a Bavarian (despite our regional rivalry) the nicest of Germany's large cities. It has the aesthetic charms of Munich and the big city feel of
