Pros: Rich in history and tradition Cons: My gosh it's hot
Hello there. For the past month I've been recharging my batteries by backpacking through Europe. I can't lie the bar exam was tough. In fact, I'm sure that some of the proctors scraped some the rest of my brain matter away as they collected my...

Pros: Fantastic history, architecture, and food Cons: Dirty streets, warnings about pickpockets and gypsies robbing you
Being a first time visitor to Rome, I wanted to see as much as possible. This meant going on a tour. Our tour guide told us we were in Europe to experience as much as we could, and we could rest when we got home. Well, our tour of Italy started and...

Pros: So much to see Cons: So crowded: so many others trying to see the same things
At the beginning of the 21st century (Rome's 28th), "eternal city" seems to mean "pereptual traffic jam." Rome really is clogged with cars and overrun with visitors, especially in this Jubilee Year. The great pagan and Christian sites are mostly ...

Pros: Good food, wonderful architecture Cons: Smells a bit
Well, I'm back from my Christmas present of a trip to Rome and boy do my feet hurt. But it was rather wonderful! I've decided not to do just a list of all the attractions like the Vatican, etc, but be a bit more basic, a bit more gritty, that is, my own ...

Pros: Fun, safe, easy to walk from place to place. Cons: Better pizza in New York.
If you have the means, you should go to Rome. It is an awesome city steeped in history. I spent three days there this past September of 2002 and loved it. I have a very short attention span and travel alone so three days was enough time see what I...

Pros: The greatest nightlife. Chicest people. Most unique venues. Hands down. Cons: Watch out for aggressive (but often hot) Italian men (and women) and pricey venues.
Rome definitely has one of the most vibrant and exciting nightlifes that I have ever experienced. Most people who I've spoken with have little regard for the night-time events and venues in Rome, but that's because most of the best places to go are kept ...

Pros: Wonderful historical and archeological sites. Spring in the Eternal City! Cons: Can be exhausting trying to get in all the sites.
Like the tradition says, if you throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain you will return to Rome. Our last trip to Italy, that included a stop in Rome, was 30+ years ago but we did make it back, so the tradition may have some truth to it.
Thirty...

Pros: The Eternal City has plenty for the compulsive shopper and the curious tourist alike Cons: Baking heat, lethal traffic, and your own personal pickpockets - but I still love it.
If you're too sexy for Milan and think Florence belongs on the Magic Roundabout, perhaps it's time you took a Roman holiday. Italy's capital city offers monumental sights, stylish shops, delicious food, wall-to-wall sunshine, lethal traffic, ...

Pros: the scenery, the history, i could go on and on Cons: don't drink the water in Rome
I've been lucky enough to travel to Italy twice now. My father was born and raised there, and goes to visit his family often. So, I have gotten a few chances to "tag along".
My father never lived in Rome, he lived in Calabria, down in the...

Pros: history,people,food,shopping Cons: traffic
Rome truly is an enigma. As you are leaving the ruins of the Forum and the Coliseum, thoughts deep into the historical frame of reference you have just left, you have to be very careful you don't get killed by the vespas shooting by you, almost daring...

Pros: ruins everywhere Cons: who really know what all the ruins are?
In Rome I went on a pub crawl with a bunch of other English speakers. You pay $25 to bar-hop and get a shot of some kind of liquor at each. You meet on the Spanish steps at a certain hour (I think it is 8 p.m.)and you pass by historical monuments as...

NOTE: THIS IS A VERY LONG REVIEW, AS IT IS DIFFICULT TO DESCRIBE ROME BRIEFLY! GRAB YOUR REFRESHMENTS.
This eternal city, situated in the Lazio region of Italy, is a goldmine of historical and religious significance. Over two...

It was to be the start of a love affair with this wonderful city that continues to this day.
As neither my wife or I were in the...
