Pros: The BEACHES........each one is different and each one is gorgeous!!! Cons: El Buric B&B Lodging
Rude, dishonest ...ruined my vacation!!!!!!!! Stay in a hotel!!
Sardinia is an incredibly beautiful island with lovely, friendly people. The beaches are incredible. I made reservations on the Internet with El Buric B&B in Alghero. I was greeted at the airport by the owner (which cost $10.00) who immediately demanded c ...
I read this board and purchased the Lonely Planet book on Sardinia in preparation for my trip to the island. I flew Ryan Air into Alghero (89 GBP) and stayed at the La Margherita hotel (80 Euro per night). Ryan Air was fine. I'd been warned about ...
Pros: Inexpensive and very beautiful Cons: Language barriers
I traveled to Sardinia on business in 1997. While I was there my colleagues and I managed to spend about three days sightseeing and relaxing on the beaches. I have to say I can not wait for the next chance to go back. The beaches are incredible. The...

Pros: Remote, rugged, beautiful, and relatively inexpensive Cons: Far from the US
SARDINIA For the last two summers, I briefly vacationed in Sardinia and I may continue to do this every year, such is the beauty of this rugged island. Although Sardinia is part of Italy, the vacation experience is totally unlike what you will have ...
Pros: beautiful, peaceful, non-commercial Cons: HOT!!! (if that's a con for you)
I stayed on the northern coast of Sardegna - near Porto Torres - in August, 1998. The water is truly the most incredible color, particularly on the "Emerald Coast", where the famous "pink Beach" can be found.
Pros: a beautiful island with many attractions Cons: a bit far away for you
I should warn you: this is the longest opinion I´ve written so far. A double espresso beside your computer might help you to get through the reading. Not a cup of tea, we´re going to coffee country! In case you think of going to Sardinia or any other ...
Pros: nice scenery, friendly people, good food, good shopping, lots of fun! Cons: there was a big fire while we were there...a little smoky!, couldn't speak Italian!
Not only is Sardinia an attractive island, but it is also a really fun place to go for the whole family. I went there a few years ago and the scenery from where we were staying was just spectacular. We actually rented villas to stay in which had the...

Alghero is a lovely and affordable get away by majorc ,Jan 20 '04
Pros: Sun, hand made crafts, red coral jewelry, seafood pasta. Cons: Sardinia is run down - like southern Italy in general.
Alghero is a great place to visit for a long weekend. On the Northwest coast of Sardinia, Italy, it has a many fun things to do:
- visit Neptune's Grotto, a cave complex right on the coast
- shop for red coral jewelry, an Alghero-only commodity
- discover hand made Sardinia knives, pottery, and wool products
- eat great seafood pasta
- visit nearby Bosa
- use Ryan Air to get there cheaply
For couples, history buffs, I recommend staying with Mario Galasso, a Professor of post-medieval marine archeology and B&B host of El Buric. B&B El Buric is on the web. Great company, affordable price, near water and downtown.
