Pros: The buildings and appointments were magnificent and the grounds were vibrant and well-manicured. Cons: A stark comparison to the living conditions of the average Russian.

Pros: Absolutely wonderful palace and grounds Cons: Inflated admission price for non-Russians (I think this is fair enough, personally, given the massive gap between Western and Russian incomes, but if you have a Russian friend who can buy the tickets, you can save a few bucks/quid)
