Pros: Sophisticated urban experience Cons: Expensive
Picturebook Switzerland is the land of mountain villages and bucolic summer pastures. You wouldn't know it from visiting Zurich though. The city is more picturebook cosmopolitan sophistication, with museums, nightlife, restaurants, places where history ...

Pros: Culture & Subculture, Fresh Food & Fresh Air, Close to the Slopes! Cons: A subjective perspective!
WHY ZURICH? Ah, well
I lived in Zurich more than ten years ago, and as a University student, which has obviously coloured my impressions of the place, possibly in more ways than one
For the purposes of this review, however, this means firstly ...

Pros: Historical, clean, great location, good transportation system Cons: expensive, lack-luster hotels
Of all the European cities, Zurich is one of the easiest to navigate. To be a cosmopolitan area, it is surprisingly laid-back, too.
I was visiting for a week attending a convention at the Hallenstadion (indoor arena). The convention itself was...

Pros: beautiful scenery, fantastic transportation via tram system, historic charm, excellent hub for short excursions, decent nightlife Cons: expensive (although exchange rate is currently very favorable), not as many "touristy" sights to see
I lived in Zurich for about a year and a half and had the opportunity to sample all of the sights and restaurants. Without a doubt, it is one of the most beautiful locations in the world...I hope that you have the opportunity to experience...

Pros: beautiful, clean city, great location, wonderful transportation Cons: Expensive. Very, very expensive. Not worth more than a day's trip
I spent a year in Switzerland as an exchange student and I visited Zurich on a weekly basis, if not more often than that. It is a very wealthy, modern, and attractive city. The streets are cleaner than any I've ever seen, the shops are beautiful (and...

Pros: free bikes free chocolate Cons: everything else is damn expensive
I arrived in Zurich by train one early summer morning. I was coming off a hangover from Munich. It was a beautiful site to see the calm lake and the town bordering it's edges. As soon as you get off the train, you have a feeling that you are in a city...

Pros: beautiful lake, beautiful hills, etc Cons: pricey
My friend and I were in Innsbruck, Austria, and having seen all that we could possibly see there (yes, its beautiful, but not much to do for those on a budget)...we decided to take advantage of our Eurail passes and head into Zurich for the day. ...

Pros: Clean, Transportation is on time, and easy to figure out, Charming City Cons: Boring, Not much a variety
*I updated this review with more useful rather than useless information, for useless information see below*
If you plan on visiting Europe, Zurich technically isn't the city of choice to be part of your touristic plans. If you are in the...

Pros: Good base to explore the region. Cons: Expensive
Spring is coming, and I think this is one of the best times of the year to visit Zurich.
In winter, you wish to be on the slopes and in summer, still, you may find it better up the mountains. But in spring Zurich comes alive after a long...

Pros: Fun, friendly atmosphere, good people go there Cons: some drinks are expensive (but then again, all of Switzerland is expensive)
When you have spent a long day in Zurich walking around, if you have to decide where to meet someone, or if you are just looking for a nice, fun bar to go to, I say go straight to the Noble Dubliner. It's an Irish pub located right off of Loewenstrasse...

Pros: Bursting with alpine chic Cons: Can be expensive
A lot has changed in Zurich in the past decade. As an art lover, I enjoyed checking out the new galleries that have popped up everywhere - but especially in the newly revamped "Zurich West" area. This is also where most Zurchers now go for a night out....

Pros: Great transportation hub Cons: Not much of interest here
If you've got plenty of time and money on your hands during a European tour of a month or more, you might find it worthwhile to spend a day in Zurich. It's a clean, bright, modern city with just enough connection to nature ("Lake Zurich") to...

Pros: Clean air, beautiful scenery, great hiking Cons: Expensive, expensive, expensive
I went to Zurich two months ago and I loved it. I backpacked and stayed in a youth hostel call the white elephant in old town Zurich. Zurich is interesting because it has a classic contrast of old-town and scenery. Interlockin is only two hours...
