Introduction I write this review for La Republica Argentina after having visited there before their most recent economic melt-down. I had the chance to visit my then girlfriend in Cordoba for over a month, staying with her and her parents. I ...

Pros: great people, diverse possibilities of places and climates Cons: dirty streets, rough roads
With a country as large and diverse as Argentina, there is somewhere for everyone and every taste around. The northern areas have a much warmer temperatures and influences from surrounding countries' cultures (Brasil, Bolivia, etc.) The southern parts of...

Pros: Food, nightlife, Buenos Aires Cons: some crime, economy not as strong
I was born in Buenos Aires, an American born to a US foreign service officer serving a tour in Argentina, right in the middle of the "dirty war." Now, I travel back to the country as a consultant or vacationer as much as possible. My...

Pros: People, Landscapes, Nightlife, Food, Culture, Football(Soccer) Cons: Politicians, Poor economy, and Politicians again!
My country, Argentina is one of the best places in the world. I know what I say because I travelled around the world and can compare.
From many years, the political class is ruling the entire country and our population, carrying us to the...

Pros: Great food, Great sites, Nice people Cons: Expansion of the city has created sprawling blocks of cement
Once Buenos Aires must have been a beautiful town. But my question is what happened. I'll tell you what happened. The 90's happened. The 90's have taken apart this beautiful metropolis and turned it into a great sprawling city where now you can only see...

Pros: culture, beauty and great food! Cons: very spread out
I lived in Argentina as an exchange student a number of years ago. I had no idea what to expect, but loved what I did experience. Argentina has such diversity. You can go to the beautiful Alp like mountains in Bariloche to experience some of the best...

Pros: the best place Cons: the price
After reading the title, you may ask: Why?. Argentina has the perfect geography: Mountains (los Andes), snow, forest, sea (a "calm one" and a "wild one", for surfers), Rivers (the widest: "rio de la Plata"), lagoons and...

Pros: Friendly people, great food, beautiful countryside, lots to do and see Cons: It's sooooo windy! Can be expensive for the budget traveler.
I highly recomend Argentina for anyone willing to understand that international travel doesn't always mean going to Europe! Argentina is wonderfully diverse country with deserts, mountains, beaches, plains and jungle. There are hundreds of things to do...

Pros: incredible landscapes Cons: far, a bit expensive, and a little dangerous
Argentina is a really worthy place to visit.
It has the three climates. Jungle in the north and snow in the south. Mountains in the east and the famous Pampas in the west. It has beautiful cities, too, like Buenos Aires, Mendoza, or Bariloche. ...

Argentina: Don't Miss Salta and the Northwest
by kfredson ,Apr 01 '05
Pros: Wonderful people, diverse landscape, very affordable Cons: A bit far from the northern hemisphere
This is the friendliest, most relaxed, delightful country I have visited on four continents. It is also immensely affordable since the devaluation. While Buenos Aires is not to be missed, and Iguazu and Bariloche are among the world's great splendors, I strongly suggest you spend a couple weeks or more in the magical city of Salta and its surrounding province up in the Northwest. The city is famous for its music, folkloric and otherwise, which you can enjoy all night in a dozen locales along the Balcarce Street every weekend. The food is legendary and the central plaza is one of the most enchanting in the world. The surrounding province has some of the most magnificent, varied scenery--from high mountains to canyons to cloud forest--that you'll see anywhere. You might find this unofficial website to be helpful (there isn't too much else out there in English):
