Pros: Dynamism, energy, nightlife, art and design, friendly people who like North Americans. Cons: Horrendous rush-hour traffic, pollution, obvious (but non oppressive) poverty.
I went to Brazil last year for a business conference in Sao Paulo. I never have been there before. I first stopped in Rio De Janeiro which I liked, and was gorgeous, but found somewhat dangerous. Four days later I flew into Sao Paulo for my ...

Pros: Great beef, warm culture Cons: Even warmer weather
The average international salesperson will most likely end up at a Sao Paulo convention at some point in their career. The larger trade shows in Sao Paulo are held at the Anhembi; a large, high-ceilinged, aluminum building whose air conditioning system...

Pros: Warm and friendly people with great food and drink Cons: Crime....Crime....and More Crime....
One of the most populated cities in the world....Sao Paulo offers the best and worst of Brazil. The people are warm and friendly...but there's a dark side - crime is an everyday problem and constantly in the back of your mind.
I've visited...

Pros: The industrialized heart of Brazil; Cons: Unsuspicious tourists, beware of some vendors
Just the same way any North American or European business person who has been living in the country will tell you that you have to learn the Brazilian way, most first-time tourists may complain about being ripped off by one of the thousands street...

Pros: Great atmosphere at the Formula 1, nice weather Cons: A big city with no charm. Past its prime (the 70s/80s were the glory days by the looks of it)
Prologue: A few centuries ago, earth-time.
God approaches St. Francis and St. Paul, a big smile on his face. “Frank, Paul – good news! Our children on earth are doing our bidding, they are going forth and multiplying. So much so, that they are about...

Pros: Paulistanos are more intolerant than I am therefore this trip was educational. Cons: The criminals are vicious and without scruple
The thought of accepting one of the internship "opportunities" offered to me this past summer flooded my mind with images of catering to the avarice-fueled delusions of sell-side investment bankers or servicing the whims of depraved,...

Pros: Interesting sights, great restaurants, beautiful shopping malls Cons: Heavy traffic, can be very crowded
By John Lerias (July 2000)
I regret the very negative comments on Sao Paulo written by several contributors to Epinion. I do not mind so much the bad impression given about the city but what bothers me most is this "holier than...

Pros: bustling conflicted variegated alive troubling Cons: growth pains like we have never known
Go to Sao Paulo if you want to see the future! This city of dramatic contrasts is pulsing with life, 24-hours a day. Dangerous -- yes, crammed with people -- yes, but vibrant and on the "cutting edge."

Pros: Good food and drinks, cheaply priced Cons: I was on guard the whole time, and a little scared after hearing about how dangerous the city is.
I went with a friend to stay with a friend of hers in Sao Paulo, Brazil Jan 2-9, 2000. We flew from Cleveland and had to switch planes in Houston, Texas, then flew straight to Sao Paulo. When we arrived in Brazil, we had no problems going through...

Pros: Cheap, nearby, plenty of new things to see. Cons: You probably won't have much time to explore everything in São Paulo.
OK! So São Paulo is a bustling city with more than 15 million inhabitants in its Greater Metropolitan Area. So there is an Underground system which reminds that of New York City during the rush hours. So you can eat like a King and sleep like a Prince...
