Pros: Adrenalin-pumping canopy tour gives close-up view of lush tropical vegetation Cons: Expect damp wet weather most of the year
What's your favorite color? If you're in the cloud forests of Costa Rica, it better be green because that's all you're going to see. Green, green, green. Not just the leaves either. Tree trunks seem to be covered with green, when you can see them behind...
Pros: exotic birdlife, chances to be above the rainforest canopy Cons: In danger of being overrun
In the beginning was the Cloud Forest. At least the human “beginning,” whether it was ten, twenty, or fifty thousand years ago. In geological terms, the land bridge between North and South America made by volcanoes in what is Costa Rica is new. And when...

Pros: Unlike any other place in the world. Cons: The bumpy roads take some getting used to..
Monteverde was just one stop on our whirlwind tour of Costa Rica in December '04. We stayed in the beautiful Fonda Vela hotel and would highly recommend it. I believe there are two different canopy tour companies (zip lining over the rainforest) and we went with a company whose name started with an "S"... can't recall. It was incredible! Also did a guided tour of the cloud forest which was breathtaking. Our entire trip (including many other locations throughout the country) was handled by a fantastic tour company. If anyone is interested in getting their contact info or if you have specific questions about he country - feel free to drop me a line at onehelluvaguy@hotmail.com. If you're going to visit Costa Rica you are going to love it! Pura Vida. Scott.
