Pros: Small, uncrowded, tropical islands, laid back, beautiful, and CHEAP Cons: Cons? What cons?!? I'm saving those for when I review Disney World.
Spending a little down time in Bocas del Toro is the kind of simple pleasure that makes enduring the rest of the year just a little bit easier. Bocas is the kind of place that not only invites, but demands, relaxation. It really just IS NOT ...
Pros: pretty beaches, good food, water sports, no traffic, taxis are plentiful and cheap Cons: don't drink the tap water
Bocas Del Toro is a beautiful group of small islands, about an hours flight from Panama City. The top attractions are its beaches, water sports, breezy restaurants, laid-back atmosphere, and in the case of Isla Bastimentos, its small-town ...
Pros: Laid-back attitude; Beautiful and uncrowded beaches; great ecology Cons: Few motels
How would you like to be on a set of islands where everything seems pristine and jungle- like? How about being on some uninhabited islands? Welcome to Bocas Del Toro Archipelago where the natives are still happy to see you. It is also a place that is not...
Pros: Secluded beaches, friendly people, great food, cheap drinks.
Great wildlife, slow pace. Cons: Hard to get to. Little to do if the weather is poor.
We were in Costa Rica last January (2004)- did the touristy things, and loved it. Our Guide there (who was a Dive Master in the past) mentioned Bocas Del Toro- so we read and dreamed for a year, and finally did it. This was our first trip to Panama. I ...
Pros: Fabulous place to visit. We ended up moving here. Cons: We´ve seen too many uninformed travelers with bad bites. Thought this would help.
Here come some more travelers, clumsily climbing onto the dock as they exit the water taxi. Theyre burdened with backpacks and frontpacks and each carries a guidebook to Panama in one hand and the inevitable bottle of water in the other. They head ...
Pros: Wonderful beaches, cheap hotels and food, nice town Cons: the caribbean style of doing things...very slowly
I went to Bocas last december, I was gladly impressed by the people and town. The food is very good, we ate fresh lobster, fish, octopuss, crabs, every day. The local restaurants are very nice, everything there is relaxing, no stress...

One of the best kept secrets of Panama is the province of Bocas Del Toro (Mouths of the Bull). In this jungle filled province, agriculture and shipping is the mainstay but tourism brings in a lot of dollars. The region is perfectly suited to growing...
Pros: Price, refrigerator, safe, and a great TV when you want to lie around. Bocas Cons: Close but not on the water
Loved Bocas. It is a great place to vacation, not yet crowded and full of chain hotels. Bocas town is located on a tropical island uncrowded by large groups of tourists. There are many tour operators with dolphin viewing and snorkeling trips. We especially liked the where hotel we stayed. Casa Amarilla is a small family operated hotel close to everything. We greatly appreciated the refrigerator and the small safe in the room. Their web site is casamarillabocas.com Bocas seems very safe, but it is nice to have a secure place to leave papers and credit cards. It was a great deal at $40. We saw rooms at twice the price that were not as nice. Those hotels were on the water, but the windows only overlooked the next hotel and not the water.
Want to stay in Paradise?Dont want the noise and clamour of Bocas town, then you must try this hidden gem.Reached only by boat this place is great.Their office is on main st in Bocas water side. They are the only place to stay on Dolphin Bay,and truly worth the money.Great food at the resturant, comfortable beds, ahh, peace and quiet. The horses are the bomb Recomended
My husband and I found the only sports bar in Bocas del Toro, Panama! It's called Toro Loco and it's an American-owned bar that has darts, Wifi, five televisions around the bar for all day sports coverage, free popcorn and really good bar food including burgers, quesadillas, chicken wings & fingers, and chili. They have happy hour Monday-Friday 3-6pm and Saturday & Sunday 4-6pm. Weekly poker games for those who are feeling lucky and live music that was awesome. Great drinks, food, bartenders and atmosphere! Definitely stop by when you're in Bocas and you won't be dissapointed! We found we spent most nights at this bar. It's just behind the town park on Central Avenue.
