Great base camp to have wonderful trip on the Turquoise coast

by serdar_tufekci , Feb 25 '04
Pros: Piece of haven on earth.
Cons: The new and modern part of the town.
I am from Istanbul but live in the US, and discovered Antalya and its environs on my trips home. Tourism in the city of Antalya exploded in the last 20 years, and as you can imagine, the old quaint coastal town is now a concrete giant with skyscraping ...

Antalya fantasy

by goodspkr , May 20 '02
Pros: Beautiful scenery, wonderful food, great prices--a trip to remember
Cons: Difficult to get to--we flew to Germany and had to change carriers there.
We arrived in Antalya airport at 8 PM. The first impression after getting off the plane and going to Passport/Visa control was of a large round room with facsimiles of ancient Roman and Greek statues. After paying our $45 for a visa, we cleared customs...

A Dolmus Ride West of Antalya

by TheSmartTraveler Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Apr 14 '00
Pros: Wonderful Sights
Cons: Rough accommodations

The Hawaii of Turkey

by eddielakr , Jul 18 '06
Pros: Gorgeous Beaches, Very Clean, Family Oriented, check out the Roxos Hotel (wow)
Cons: Not as a singles place, more expensive than bodrum-marmaris, opens later than most spots
Antalya is probably my favorite place in Turkey. I have traveled all over the country and in my opinion it is the most worthwhile place in Turkey to travel to. For one, it is the hottest tropical spot in Turkey. If you go in august, prepare to bring ...

Romance in Turkey

by 20071977 , Jun 12 '00
Pros: Beautiful and romantic place
Cons: A far away vacation
When you arrive in Antalya, if you are lucky enough to fly over on a clear day, the first thing that will catch your eyes is the beautiful contrast of colors you will see between the pine green of the mountains and the blue of the the sea. The mountains...

by pinkwink16 , Jul 15 '01
Pros: Super strong sun, relaxing beaches, perfect sea water, has a very lazy-just-have-fun atmosphere feeling.
Cons: Very far (from Istanbul).
Antalya (during mid-June)
-----------
hot hot killer hot,
small deserted-like towns,
many interesting farms in the middle of nowhere,
tall large mountains and mountains,
dangerously narrow rides on the sides of the...
