Pros: Great sight, some interesting activities to do nearby Cons: Over-developed and over-commercialized
It is understandable why Niagra Falls is one of the world's most popular tourist destinations. It is rare for such a spectacular natural sight to be readily accessible, being located near both Buffalo and Toronto.
Pros: suitable for all ages and budgets Cons: not good if it rains! majority of things are outdoors.

Excellent choice for family vacation by abednego ,Jun 29 '07
Pros: Variety of thrills & sights Cons: Serious drive from NY area
Whirlpool Jet Boat in Niagara-on-the-Lake was my kids' favorite activity. Pleasant 45 minute drive up the river and canyon on River Road. Thrilling, soaking motorboat ride up the river to the whirlpool, with Disney-esque commentary and joking along the way. They take reservations, so you can take a break from standing on line. After you change back into dry clothes, you'll be hungry. If you want a break from the greasy Niagara Falls diet, without paying any more, head to Garciolli's Pizza. Here's how: after leaving Whirlpool Jet Boat, left at Ricardo. Left at end onto Simcoe St. First right on Queen St. Left on Dorchester. It's on your right.
The Whitewater Walk surprised my family. The rapids are powerfully intense enough to totally stand out as something that most of us have never seen or imagined.
My children (ages 10, 12, 14, 16) loved touristy Ripley's on Clifton Hill, citing inventive tricks and effects. Go figure.
Pros: Incredible unforgettable sights. Friendly people. Cons: None that could possibly make you regret going and seeing the falls.
The falls are incredible, must be seen, and will never be forgotten. Perfect for everyone above the age of reason. Stay in a Canadian hotel for breathtaking views from your room and while walking around town. For tours, if you have a choice, go in the April through September months. Avoid Niagra Majestic Tours. After making reservations with them and paying weeks in advance, I flew all the way from Florida to find out they had decided to close down for a while because things were slow around Thanksgiving. Yet, see the first question in their online FAQ:
Q. Is there a time of the year when you do not operate?
A. No, we operate tours of Niagara Falls 365 days per year.
beauty and fun at an affordable price by mmreed ,Sep 03 '04
Pros: Beauty, cleanliness, many attractions, historical sites Cons: crowded. very crowded.
Niagara Falls Canada is a destination that offers something for everyone. After returning from there only 3 weeks ago, I can say that it had gotten even better. The Canadian side offers spectacular views of the falls, many viewing points, and many tourist packages. Once you are done with the falls, there is much more to enjoy. There are now two casinos that offer everything you can imagine in terms of vegas style gaming. There is Clifton Hills which is a ocean boardwalk type environment with a Midway arcade and novelty museums and restaurants. There are also many gardens, parks, and museums on the outskirts. Compared to the American side of the falls, Canada offers so much more and is MUCH CLEANER! I did not see any litter, garbage, or other unsightly blemishes. Key attractions not to miss are: Skylon Towers, Natural Whirlpool, Butterfly Conservatory, and the ship transport locks.
I love Niagara Falls and even got engaged there! I love the Canadian side better than the American side though both are good. There are different tours that you can take that are really interesting and fun. If you are thinking of doing one of the attractions like Maid Of The Mist, Cave Of The Winds, or Journey Behind The Falls, go with Cave Of The Winds. It is really spectacular.
Also, the falls never stop in winter. It is just beautiful after a freshly fallen snow. Plus, there aren't many people there then. Very romantic too.
Magic/Illusion Show in Niagara Falls by nathanrbrt ,Aug 14 '05
Pros: High class experience. Show was above average. Dinner was also great. Showgirls weren't bad either! Cons: Not well advertised.I didn't know it existed before this trip.
Although mother nature ( the falls ) always impressed me I was always disappointed with the tacky museums located in the tourist area. I haven't been to the Niagara region in quite some time and my how things have changed. Ok.....so some of those museums are still there...BUT..many have remodeled and improved. There are many new entertainment experiences including a moving theatre and 3D films.
The highlight of my last trip was the Greg Frewin Magic Show. Its a dinner theatre that resembles a Vegas Experience. The show included showgirls, tigers and some awesome magic. I almost missed this show as I had never heard of it before. I understand its fairly new. http://www.gregfrewintheatre.com
My wife and I went there for a few days. Left the day before that guy went over without a barrel. We stayed at the Fallsview Marriott, highly recommend stay there if you want to get away from all the families and have a nice quiet stay. From our suite you could see the falls. Best vacation I've had since our honeymoon.
